It runs around the entire facility and then cuts across the 1/4 mile track...
Are you guys not zooming in on google maps and following the "road couse" around the facility? At the south end of the facility, the road course would go directly through the staging lanes for the drag strip and then uses the full quarter-mile strip as well. See the image I attached below for my interpretation of where the road course is at this facility.

You can't prep the drag strip for 1/4-mile runs AND road course running in the same weekend. I just don't see it working...

Bummer, but you've got to admit it would be cool as _ _ _ _ .

And then there was possibly the best line ever in motion pictures: 106 miles

(just about every line in that movie is a classic)

Nothing personal, but the F-Body group is doing JUST THAT in about 3 weeks...

http://www.fbody-event.org/index.php

And, considering it's the F-Body group....If they can do it....why couldn't we?

If you are going to be there, take notes or get in contact with the track on how they do it. Then pass the info onto the powers that be for C5F

What I think camaroskooter is trying to imply is the sheer volume of people to show up would make it very hard to give everyone a chance to do both events if they are not going on @ the same time of each other.

I just don't see how you can have a 1/4-mile strip prepped to handle both types of racing in the same weekend.

But by all means, if you're attending the f-body thing, please take notes and relay the information. It's always great for the C5 moderators to have as much info as possible before contacting potential facilities about the event. I am just voicing what I believe are legitimate concerns about the facility hosting the Fest.

In addition to the track surface concerns, I'm trying to figure out just from the aerials where the vendor alley and car show would be located if the road course was going on...

I don't think that's a road course, what about oval laps instead?

then after that, we can go really fast on the local cloverleaf exits and entrances..

a little sarcasm not really sure how much interest or fun oval will be, we aren't racing no prize money for rubbing

There's an even bigger oval just down the street a bit. Think they can rent that one (IMS) out for a day? Just kidding

Indy would be great!

I think the theme is to try and go east / central and more north since the first 1 & 2 were deep south.
Got to keep in mind our Canadian brothers & sisters

How about Bowling Green KY, http://beechbend.com/dragstrip.htm

They are large enough to support the crowd, campgrounds onsite, ammusment park on site and plenty to do around town.
