Anyone else read the 1LE press release from GM? Most of it is about the upgrades stolen from the ZL1 specifically for the package, but at the end there's a couple paragraphs about MyLink.

That's not on any Camaro so far but will be for 2013, including a 7" touchscreen radio so they say.

Yeah this is the only real relevant information in the press release if you ask me. If I wanted a track pack, Ill do it aftermarket. The factory integrated screen is very nice though. Although MyLink is slightly dated and will probably be disappointing. We will probably better off getting one of the aftermarket double din adapters and using an alpine or kenwood.

On the contrary, I think they've done a pretty good job with MyLink. Judging from what I've seen of the current tech in Lexus cars, which is usually just about the highest quality aside from Audi, MyLink offers similar functionality. Though I'll reserve complete judgement until I see it in action, who knows if it's as intuitive as the Lexus tech is, or whether their screens are as high quality. That's what I deal with every day though and I would love to have that kind of system in my car.

My biggest question is where are the going to put the screen? Sure there are double DIN adapters out there, but IMO they are hideous and make the A/C controls ridiculous to use. My money is on a center console re-work for 2013. I'm going to say they'll do away with the tray under the radio (where there would be a gauge pack in some cars) since more people express interest in the screen rather than the extra gauges. A lot of GM cars have been getting re-worked or replaced with far superior models in order to compete. They just released the refresh of the Traverse which brings a whole new interior, so it's obviously something they're looking into...
