The prices have come down. Check some of the part numbers on the dealer sites. The nav option is $800, purchased when delivered.
The flagship Kenwood Excelon navigation unit is about $1,600. Plus, you have to buy a car kit that includes electronic controls - at least $200, depending upon brand. Then you have to buy an OnStar module as well. Thanks Ofer !

... and know he's working it - but will absolutely be "tricky" ... My personal chat with Ofer even as early as (this morning) was - I can't believe GM won't allow sale of these for previous model users to help trim the OEM market - they lose nothing..... Some could argue that new car sales happen when new technology hits cars - but that's still a ways off ...My point is I'd like to see the update parts list to show this "after the fact" possibly being less than most OEM Double DIN's.... Currently I run an Alpine 8" and have had every possible double din and bezel in my car - but wan't a stock look like all of you.... I know the hacks and the ability for me to pipe Gauges while at the track to a GM Double Din will be trickier with an OEM look - but will deal with it. Also - The "Nav Option" - is that assuming you have the base Double Din System and "Nav Option" is the $ associated to the firmware / software upgrade to make the double DIN Nav Capable? .... I know that was happening early on. Ofer - good luck .... But GM could have really helped with this one or perhaps one of the harness suppliers (Metra / Scosche) - but still want to see the update "official list and revised pricing".

My daughter works for a Chevrolet dealership here and she stated that many people have traded in older Malibu's and Camaros just to have the MyLink...Of course one dealership in the greater metro Atlanta area doesnt represent the entire market...I cant see any other reason why GM wouldnt make this easier..

Watch the next 5 car commercials...... How much of the Ad is technology and gadget based..... The major autos are hoping for SmartPhone mirroring technology to get them out of this mess and just allow a pretty display - with all intelligence in your hand much like Pioneer - Kenwood - and the others are doing and some standards body's created for this. The Camaro brass really hoped to avoid this with the Camaro given it's heritage as a muscle car - and hoped this would not be an issue. I explained that the heritage of "buyer / consumer" is no longer the same and even an original 69 owner is now likely an avid technology user by nature and life. With that said I am gutting my car to shreds for 8-9-low 10's at the strip... But still want the technology - and if I can get it in an OEM flavor - I like that.... My 1 cent but this is a monster hot topic within the auto's..... Monster....
