It's my guess that the 12 week time frame was meant to mean a typical time frame if someone were to place an order after production stated, from the time of the order to the day they pick it up at the dealer.

In the past, if you were to order a vehicle, they would quote you a 8 week delivery, and in the case of a ZL1, it may be a 12 week delivery.

So with all that being said, are you saying since 2013's started June 9th, are you talking like 12 weeks from then? Or could it be sooner based on 2013's that are rollovers are ETC?

Realize that it's only a guess on my part, but I would say the wait would be less, since the order was already placed some time ago.

People are really taking this out of context. The 12 week thing was for an order start to finish as estimated by someone at a car show. No way will they keep the cars in QC for 12 weeks. They learned their lesson from the 2012's and have taken measures to make sure an extended hold doesn't happen. Not sure what the standard QC hold time is, seems like a week or 2 should be sufficient. They build up a large stock of cars, check them over for issues and then ship them.

I'm betting that cars start shipping before the end of the month.

All the camaro's are on QC and each day there are more being made. I don't see where there going to store a couple thousand cars if the QC lasts that long. I'm betting middle of next week they'll start releasing the MY 2013's.

I am hoping this is the case. everything I read leaves me to believe that this is true. the 12 weeks was just a number thrown out. depending on where you live or shipping time it could vary greatly.

When I've ordered vehicles in the past the sales mgr always says 8-12 weeks for delivery! I'm just hoping with the new model year, the hold up isn't that long! I know GM will want to push the 2012's out before much of the 13's go out!

I also kind of take that 12 weeks to be a dealer maybe not even having an allocation right away. I mean if they had an allocation right away, there is no reason for it to take that long even with shipping. If you look at the average order timeline for folks on this site and the event history of my 2010 MY, once an order gets an allocation applied to it, it's usually build and ready to ship within 3-4 weeks. My previous car went from 2000 to 3800 in about 3 weeks and was delivered in less than 2 weeks to Nebraska.

I know places will say 12+ weeks to cover their a$$, but I'd say that the average constraint free order takes about 6-8 weeks. That's from the time the dealer uses their allocation til they take delivery of the car.

I realize my current order may not be the perfect example cause it seems they really are putting a rush on these initial 2013 rollover allocations, but if my current TPW stays the same (6/25), and there is no extended QC hold by the time my car is built, I could potentially have it within 4-5 weeks of my order being accepted (went 2000 on 6/12). If it's built by (6/29) it should get delivered by 7/13 or 7/20.

GMConnects seems to update randomly. My order didn't update til last Wednesday, some orders are updating on Friday. Depends on what status you are at and moving to. Becky can look your order up in the mornings for you. She was able to get me my TPW. The status in the GM orderworkbench system that dealers have access to should be the most updated and closest to real-time.

I think Z4me should be at or very close to 3800 since he has a VIN now.

My TPW is this week, hence why I asked if his status changed from 3400. He was at 3400 with me and a TPW of this week (like me) hence why i asked.

Message Becky in the ordering thread and hopefully she'll be able to get you the info your looking for. But they get built all week so might not get a VIN for a few more days.
