I was thinking that we should have a get together this Saturday evening. Someplace with a bit more room then Sonic. How about the In-N-Out at El Con mall, say 5:30 pm? Anybody up for it? Open to other locations.

Thanks guys.

Well today I had the chance to do a real break in with the ZL-1 today....I am speachless!!!
This car loves to go and it wants to keep going until I tell it to stop. I was on the highway and would bring the car down to about 40MPH, and then punch it. Bring it up to 4k RPM and then shift to the next gear. I'd do this for each gear until I hit 80MPH...Which was quick and normally in 3rd.
This thing is incredible to drive, the handling is just plan silly smooth and the shift is even better.
I can't wait to take a few of you for a ride soon.

The entire dealership looked at the car. Everyone was just amazed. All the sales people were very happy for me and they can't wait to sell one (when available) to other lucky customers.

I'm going to talk to Sammy, I'm not sure what's going on next weekend.

We don't often think about it, but the wheel and tire combo is engineered as part of the car and mate to the drivetrain to give it the right ride and performance. The stock 20" wheels are pretty heavy, that's why I'm still looking for the right set of ultralight wheels before I buy.

It's like putting 36" mudders on a 4-cylinder Jeep. It looks like it will go anywhere, but it'll have a hard time getting above 50 MPH.
To me it's an improvement in the ride but I like to feel the road so some may not like it. And yeah I completely understand what your saying and I had heard it before but I didn't think I would feel that much of a difference in performance but oh well. Being that it's a V6 I'm ok with it since the car looks sooo much better now.

Also, can anyone recommend a good clay bar system? I'm thinking I wanna try it to see if it will help with the water spots on the front before we send it off to get repainted.

As long as you're happy with the mod, that's the important thing. So are you planning to keep the car now? Hate to see you get rid of it.

I have the Maquire's claybar set. I used it as soon as the car was delivered, and again a few months ago to strip it down. Very happy with the results.

I'll see Peter in the morning when I take mine in for the top recall. I'll get his e-mail and pass it on to you.

Happy so far, we'll see when I have to buy tires lol. And we aren't sure yet. We are still looking at houses, who would have thought it would take 3 plus months to find one. But basically it just depends on what we buy and our financial situation. Our mortgage guy said to at least keep it until we close because it looks good to have a consistent monthly payment. So if we get a cheaper house we'll keep it but if we get a more expensive house we'll probably allocate funds else where until I get done with school and get a better paying job.

As for the clay bar I'll pick one up tomorrow and try it out. And thanks in advance for Peters info.

In-N-Out sounds good to me!

For those wanting to remove their tail light bezels, check out this video.

Whipple Feeler

***BUMP***

If anyone wants to battle with Armysig's new ZL1 here is a deal for you.

This combo put me at a little over 600rwhp and 567rwtq and a 11.6 @ 124.

For the whipple kit, headers, CAI. - $7000
If you want I can install it all for you minus a tune for $500. There is a really good local tuner at ESTuned that will dyno tune your beast for < $400. I think it's $375.

Just the whipple kit, - $5800

headers and CAI will be for sale seperate only if the whipple sales.

The whipple has right around 10,000 miles I think I am deployed and can't check the mileage right now. I should be home in July and I could have this off in a day. I will take a non refundable deposit of $1,000 to hold this for anyone. Any questions let me know.

Thanks,
Joshua

I'll be there. There's no downpour forecasted this time is there?

Just got back from seeing Peter at Watson today. The convertible top issues are supposedly fixed. Definitely less wind noise by the back windows now. I rode about 20 miles with the top down and no rub marks noticeable.

Met Ron there (other IOM convertible). He was having a piece of trim replaced. Also met 2 other owners; RJT and CGM coupes, but they were both "more mature" owners, and not interested in a Camaro Club :(

I put the 20's on my LT and honestly - I can't tell any difference in ride and for that matter - in gas mileage. Sure do look 100% better than the wheels that were on there. I had to replace two of the tires due to nails and whew - those Pirelli's are pricey but I love them.

I've used a couple different clay bar systems and they are all the same. Should take those water spots right off!
