Mr. Fitz stated there would be a final answer upon 1000 responses. One would think, for there to be an answer, the decision must already be made?

Not suggesting they would be the only ones that find it desirable, but why would someone buy a muscle car and let it do the work for them? Fun is in the Row.
I'm a bit confused. I understood that DevilKnightFalcon started this thread and was the individual that spoke with Mr. Fitzpatrick at C5. Are you DKF in disguise? As far as "fun is in the row," that is simply an opinion and one that is worthless to debate. Subjectivity cannot be argued. Other people find NOT having to row "fun." Hence, the very existence of this poll and thread.

True.

As far as a decision. If i were to say "everyone guess what's in the box. When there are 1000 guesses, I'll tell ya whats in the box." That's how I read the first post. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Good automatics are a reality today & if it's good enough for the Caddy it's good enough for the Camaro too!

Put me down for an auto! Manual is fun, for the first half hour...

I believe it is in GM's best interest to cater to ALL enthusiasts ...

Both an Automatic and Convertible should definitely be out of the the question in my opinion. This is a car built and bred for the race track. Let's keep it that way by giving it only what it deserves.

If it were given an auto that was paddle shift only and could shift as fast as an audi or ferrari tap shift transmission then I'd say it would be something they may want to look into, but just the standard 6L80E is not going to do this car justice.

Fitz.... i hope the answer is no on the Auto option.

If the ZR1 doesn't get an auto than the ZL1 shouldn't have one either.

When you all crap yourselves when we find out how much the ZL1 is going to be you'll be glad the Auto won't be available as well.

Wink Auto a Necessity for Quicker ET's and Everyday driving

Now, on a road course, a manual is paramount. But most of these ZL1's will be driven by the Over 50 Crowd who have all had the great experience of mssing enough shifts, replacing enough throw-out bearings, burning up clutches, and ... well, you get the point. It should be obvious to the marketeers at GM that Camaro needs A6 just as much as CTS-V needs it.

All in my own opinion only... but i do believe I have seen info the average purchaser is over 50 yrs old.

If Auto Buying for me is a SURE thing. No auto, not sure it's worth the aggravation while I am trying to TEXT! Oh, I did NOT say that. LOL.. Just kidding. But, please, allow me the oppty to buy ZL1 with auto. (wife driving it would be "wow" factor for me... she cant do the stick)....

Wait a minute.

1000 responses.

Does that mean votes or does that mean posts? Cause if it means posts, we need about 430 more.

Want an auto big time

We have a 2011 SS A6. I asked the wife that if I made enough extra cash, (We're retired) could I trade it for a Zl1. She said yes, as long as it is auto. Shortly after that I went back to work part time, and the cash is piling up OK. Need that auto option.
