Yeah, there's no way I'd be getting an automatic. If I get a car I want it to be a standard. This will be my weekend/going out car. I want something to have fun with.

Am I missing something?, but thats differnt than what the ome page says.

As it appears Scotty confirms here.
Cars that have already been placed to production are still being built. New submissions are not being accepted at the moment. The statements don't disagree.

Okay that makes sense, thanks UCF w00t, I did not look at it from that angle.

I appreciate it.

That's what I was wondering. We were told that we would hear something official today. Where's the news at? I'm really thinking about cancelling my order.
You ordered 6/30/09 and you want to cancel? Hahahahahaha. You do realize there are people that ordered the FIRST DAY allowed and still haven't got their cars?

However, yes, I would like some word from GM and not have to hear everything from Camaro5. People who don't go to this forum have no idea about anything pertaining to their car.

ok so quick question sorry...up to what stage does "placed to production" include?

i'm at event 3000 as of june 30th so does that mean "placed to production" or is that technically still a "new submission" as i hadn't received my tpw yet? i was a little confused about if "new submissions" solely referred to new event 1100's

thanks

You're "placed". New submitted orders that have not been placed are at 1100.

I talked to the sales manager at my dealer yesterday, and he was shocked that I had better info than what GM was telling him. He said the GM person he got info from treated the M6 delay as if it a state secret. I told him which forum he ought to be readin'...

TPW 7/13, still at 3400

So I get a call from my cousin today. Who just happens to be an engineer in the auto industry, with a lot of contacts and friends also doing the same work. I had let him know a couple of months ago that I had ordered a camaro. Anyway he called me today to let me know about some transmission trouble on the M6/v8. So needless to say I was very interested to hear what he had to say.

So here goes. Please note I will not give any names and I am just here to share what I heard. I make no claims to how true or accurate any of it is.

So he asks if I had received my car yet, I let him know that it should be starting its way down the line next week and I would hopefully see it in month or so. He then said he just wanted to warn me if I already had my car to take it easy on the transmission because there was a problem . I said yeah I know the output shafts are having a problem. Right? He then told me its bigger than that. I did not want to hear that!

Anyway I'll sum things up the best I can. Torque management, suspension travel(wheel hop) and vibration. It sounded like under certain conditions undo stress is placed on the transmission. Pretty much when the back wheels break loose or hop torque management is trying to adjusting continually causing vibration in the rear end. That then is putting stress back on the output shaft, trans case, and joints on the transmission side of the axle. He mentioned something about cracked transmission cases and blown u-joints.

I didn't get any more than that from him other than it sounded like the programming on the system was being looked at heavily. But from the sounds of it all the involved components were being combed over by some very talented people.

Just thought I would share that with everyone. Again I make no claims with this information..........
