your mods are boltons + weight reduction. not just boltons fyi. 350+lbs of reduction is extensive work/mods btw

2010SS vs LS2 GTO = very close.

the GTO guys remove uneeded weight. even with bolt ons they are as fast for faster than bolt on 2011GT, 2010 SS. IMO. at full weight they lose.

I've been lurking here for a year. This thread lives forever. I go to the drag strip here 7-8 times a year. In the last two years I've seen 3 late model camaro's, 5034 mustang GT's, 1 5.0, 1 charger, and about 20 or so GTO's. Whats up with Camaro's and Chargers never running down the 1320? The GTO's and Mustang's have represented with paper tags.

I beat an automatic GTO, they have slow shifting 4-speed automatics, but 6-speed manual GTOs are a helluva lot faster. SS will win either way.

I think you coulld count on one hand how many stock GTO's actually hit 12's stock.
He also replaced all of his fluids with royal purple, that is supposed to give extra RW ponies and has shown it on a dyno before. You can't call it stock, if it is not running all stock parts.

No need to speculate, we have already done it.

The 5th Gen is siginifcantly faster and we ran, to the best of our knowledge, the FASTEST STREET LEGAL Pontiac GTO and Camaro head to head.

The GTO's 4 speed auto sucks from a roll (at certain speeds). One of the worst roll on speeds for a 4 speed GTO is around 35-40 mph. Its a dog from that speed. When I had my GTOs, I would make sure to never race anyone from those starting speeds. But the 4 speed auto is real strong from around 60-65mph punch. From that speed it drops down to the perfect rpm in 2nd gear and haul axx.
So the performance difference is night and day depending on the starting point. Lots of guys with A4 GTOs race people from around 35 -40 mph (popular starting point for roll races) not understanding that the car's a dog from that speed.

From a dig (drag race), the A4 works really well. It pulls hard from start to finish. My stock 06 A4 GTO ran 13.3s @ 105 mph all day long in 80 degree weather. It consistantly ran faster times at the track than my 05 GTO (M6). The main reason was because the M6 GTO loves to wheel hop. Its suspension is really soft and combine that with the manual tranmission and the car just loved to hop.

That's not fair.
Talking stock
The GTOs 2nd gear is way too spead out. If you get stuck in 2nd gear around 35 mph (35mph roll on punch) the car crawls until it gets up to about 50mph before it starts pulling hard.

In comparison, a stock A6 Camaro pulls hard from a 35mph punch. It would be an embarrassing race for a stock A4 GTO to race a stock A6 Camaro from a 35 mph roll.

But from a 65mph punch, it would be a completely different race. The A4 is fast from that speed.

I beat this guy in a GTO with his girlfriend(guessing automatic from how it shifted, sounded and accelerated) in a quick 0-60 run(the speed limit was 40, err I mean we were at the drag strip), he had a loud exhaust sound on it but mine revs quicker and higher(8000 rpm), plus I have a 6-speed and the VQ35HR in my G35 has loads of low-mid range torque, with 90% available from 2500 rpm to 7500 rpm.... Dual ram air intake adds 3 horsepower @ 60 mph, so at that point I have about 315. Only have 245s in the rear but I still got the jump on him(he rolled for a second then floored it). But I beat him by 2-3 car lengths, Im sure if it was on the highway he wouldve EVENTUALLY won since Im limited to 155 mph.
