I've been very happy with my 2010 Avalanche. They function like a truck, but ride like an SUV. I also prefer the "nekkid" Avalanche...not a fan of the cladding. According to a local dealer, they were promised a future replacement for the Avalanche at a dealer meeting, but said it would be built on the truck platform.

Hmm... I thought part of the allure of the Avalanche was that it's a Suburban with a bed. This would be exactly what you noted the truck function with SUV ride. Seems to me that making the 3rd gen on the truck frame defeats the purpose.

Maybe they're trying something different. Since the 4-door pickup became popular they don't sell many Av's. They sold less than 20,000 last year.

that is good news.! so the pic on that link is that a 6th gen camaro .. i thought they would look diffrent
