The Camaro can track it - hit menu to go into the Information Center and you can scroll around a bit. One of the options shows average speed, another shows average fuel economy. If you push and hold select/clear it will clear the entry and will start fresh.

I just put my first tank of gas in it (was getting close to the 1/4 mark and had a long day ahead of me) this morning, and on a 90 mile round trip of mixed highway/city driving of 25mph-55mph it said I averaged 24.9mpg

But today I purposely ran it over 100 miles of almost all highway - no A/C and speeds from 50-75, and it showed 21.3 avg mpg.

should I get it looked at?
I guess it all evens out i went and looked back because i was keeping track and the shorter rides to work avg 21 even though its 80 percent highway. the long rides which take more than a half of a tank avg between 25 and the highest was 28.5 so im happy.

What they are asking is if the car calculates the amount of driving that is considered 'city' vs 'highway" It doesn't. It simply does average MPG.

No, the car does not track it.
I know my commute is 20 miles backroads and city, then 38 miles highway, so about 36% city/backroads, 64% highway.

Just got back from a 200 mile trip and got 27.1mpg and I was going between 70-85mph the whole time.

15,500 miles currently on the car. ARH Headers/Cats, Airaid intake, MRT V1 Axleback and Trifecta tune.

While cruising at 70 I get 30.6 MPG. Keep in mind I have nitrogen in the tires and magnaflows on though. I was getting about 29.6 on the trip before without nitrogen

One thing we all need to keep in mind is the fuel.
Not so much the octane, but the mix.
If it is the 10% ethanol mix it will lower the MPG....some cars by as much as 10%.
My wife's MINI hates the ethanol mix.
So for max MPG......stick with pure gasoline.
Rumor has it they are going to be increasing beyond 10% ethanol soon :(.

That is not good news.
Most manufactures of various engines say up to 10% was designed for but not more.
Could potentially cause all kinds of problems. I know the 10% stuff sure breaks down a LOT faster than pure gasoline.

Someone on the forum somewhere said at least part of New York has gone to 20% but I have no proof

I'm getting 21.6 mpg. About 50/50 highway/city. About 750 miles on the car so far.

People, please post at the very least both average mpg and average mph for the same tank.
It gives a much better indication then A% city, B% highway.
If you really want, post all stats:
- average mpg this tank / lifetime
- average mph this tank / lifetime
- A% city, B% highway
- average outdoor temperature
- hyper-milling / normal with an occasional dash / spirited / pedal to the metal style
- anything else.......

Why you ask?
Well, my average mpg is way low, like 16-18 currently while my drive to work is 9.0 miles.
6.5 Miles highway US 59 S and I-610 N, which gives me 72% highway!
Yet my average speed is 22-28 mph at the end of a tank.
Now my bad mpg makes more sense doesn't it!?!

Still wish it was a bit more frugal though!

In the same boat as you, a pretty good mix of city/highway, getting around 18 mpg, if all highway abou 24mpg to 28 mpg, depending on how fast I am driving

I performed my mileage experiment again today, (since I just passed the 10,000 mile mark on the odometer). On the way into work today I set the cruise at 65 MPH (this time) and ran the same 25 mile on the highway. MPG was 32.7.

I use Mobil 1 synthetic, and have the INJEN and MRT 2.0 set-up....... sure beats the 93 Corsica I was driving.
