Yeah basically(7750 on the tach it begins to redline, I rounded up slightly), but only in the 2007-2008 G35 sedan, the G35 coupe from 2003-2007 and sedan from 2003-2006 redlined around 1,000 rpm lower or 6,500 rpm. For the new 07-08 VQ35HR engine, 80 percent of the engine's parts were new versus previous years, including the block, which was made stronger. Nissan's also added electromagnetic variable valve timing to the exhaust valves, a higher compression ratio and true dual exhaust. It also featured standard symmetric twin ram air intakes, which uses two throttle bodies and routes the incoming air around rather than through or over the radiator. The system also helped reduce airflow resistance by 18 percent and increased horsepower by 3 at 60 mph, also the engine was underrated, it was rated at 306 but it actually makes 311 and add in the Dual Ram Air Intake and that makes 314 horsepower @ 60mph+. The 07-08 G35 sedan was faster than Infinit's own more expensive V8 powered M45s, the G35 came within 10 hp of the V8-powered M45(314 vs 325 bhp) yet weighed 500 lbs+ less, equaling a better power to weight ratio and it was faster, M45s could not crack into the 13s contrary to 07-08 G sedans, I have run a 13.5 @ 104.8 mph and 0-60 in 4.8, I have 245/45ZR18 Michelin Pilot Sports in the rear, they grip great, on my old tires my best was 0-60 in 5.0/ 1/4 mile in 13.8 @ 102.1 mph....

Dual ram air intake adds 3 horsepower @ 60 mph, so at that point I have about 315. Only have 245s in the rear but I still got the jump on him(he rolled for a second then floored it). But I beat him by 2-3 car lengths, Im sure if it was on the highway he wouldve EVENTUALLY won since Im limited to 155 mph.
My money would still be on a LS2 GTO everytime in a drag race vs a G35. Stock LS2 GTOs (A4 and M6) run low 13s (bone stock) all day long with a decent driver.
400hp and 3700 lbs = fast car.

The only A4 GTO I have raced at the drag strip was this guy from the GTOforum, he ran a 13.5 at 104 to my 13.7 @ 103 mph. But he had JBA shorty headers, RT high flow cats, flowmaster catback, K&N cai and LS1Edit dyno tune. In all it was about $2400+ worth of mods to get that time. Motortrend and Insideline both got 5.5 for 0-60 and the 1/4 mile in 14 seconds flat for a stock A4. I am not going to compare my car to a 400 horsepower 6.0 liter M6, I may be faster off the line but he will pull on me. I would bet I could pull on a 350 horsepower 5.7 liter bone stock GTO A4(I have 6-speeds vs 4, plus my engine revs quicker and I weigh 200 lbs. less). I have also beaten Dodge Challenger/Charger R/Ts with the Hemi 5.7 in the 1/4 mile too, I also barely beat a 360 hp 6.0 liter Pontiac G8 GT by not even half a car length, I was surprised I won that but I weigh 500 lbs less. I beat a Camaro V6 by half a second too, 13.7 vs 14.2, I could literally see him in my rearview mirror, I thought those would be faster, but those also weigh 200-300 lbs+ more than me and have those peakier 3.6 DI engines...

One thing to remember on the GTO's Weight, it includes a Spare Tire, Jack, and jack handle.

What have you done to your car again? Were you not the one who guts his interior to win street races?

A quick post search says that is the guy. Says removing the interior is free since his time is worthless.

I saw this Camaro SS and new murdered-out CTS-V going at it, I thought "I'm not even going to try, I don't have a chance in hell." 1000 hp between the two, pretty amazing how powerful cars are getting these days, the CTS-V's supercharger was more than audible, and the Camaro definently wasn't stock because they were running neck and neck. I observed, I swear the Caddy was about to hit this car pulling out. When he gunned it he was going easily 60-70 mph within a few seconds, very dangerous. Though the CTS-V driver looked like just like Jason Statham in the Transporter, haha....

Anyhow, off topic there. The Camaro would have any current 392-powered LX-platform car from the start, but as speeds climb the horsepower difference cannot be ignored and it will eventually result in the Charger winning. Charger/Challenger may have a slightly lower e.t. in the 1/4 but the trap speed should show a wider gap.

You obviously raced an '04 GTO with an LS1.

An LS2 GTO would have rocked your world, automatic or not.

first off i dont street race ,dont want to lose my car to the cops.
im sure some one will take the bolt-on record, just suprised that no one has really tried ,being the camaro has a 6 speed trans to my 4 speed.
more hp too and the better breathin heads .

as for my time being worthless ,lol . i said it was free .
i guess your one of those people that just throws money at the car and hope it works ?

the eastcoast shootout is already planed ,may a few people might show up, unless they dont want to see the goats tail lights.

GTOs are great cars. I had two GTOs (05 and 06).

In my L99 A6, I ran 12.1 @ 114 mph (bolt ons + drag radials) with the stock gears, stock converter, 20'' wheels. I don't know how far I want to push it. My car is so nice and its my daily driver. I might go a head and see how fast I can get down with a converter, but that's about it. I also don't want to mess up my car by removing stuff just to make it lighter. I also don't want to run drag wheels (I'm too lazy). I like to drive to the track run my car and drive home.

But if I did go with drag wheels (17'' for example), gears, converter, and weight reduction, I know I could run mid 11s (probably faster given the right conditions).

I think as the cars get older and people start getting a little more aggressive with their mods, the times will come down. But right now pretty much all the bolt on cars are nice new daily drivers that guys don't want to mess up.
