We find out the event code is still 1100!!! I bought the first day!!! So then I go look at my welcome kit and it says "date ordered: 10/16/2008" three days after we ordered it.

So I feel like my dealership (Eldorado Cheverolet of Mckinney, Texas) is bs-ing us and not actually worring about my order at all. Should my event code still be 1100?

Please help!!!

Chevy has got to have something going on with all of the cars that show they are going to Moreno Valley. Look at them...they are all automatic 2SS's. Only diff (besides colors) is some don't have the sun roof and the ones that have the sunroof also have the 20" polished wheels. I seriously doubt all of their customers orders would be like that. No RS packages, no manuals, no stripes, no other options??

Those that know otherwise, please correct me.

When Chevrolet has developed sportscars in the past, several cars are built for purposes of marketing the car. Celebrities like NASCAR drivers and even Hollywood (Leno) types get special direct allowcations that are sent to a nearby dealerships for prep and delivery. I suspect these are in essense, direct sales from GM that dont count against the dealers allocations.

The car sent to Eldorado before yours may not be thier first allocation, just a special customer delivery....Then again, they could be lying to you.

The Moreno cars must be for a marketing event....too many cars to justify to one dealer.

Hey!...maybe it's a Hollywood moive where they plan on totaling 50 cars in one action shot!!! Just kidding.

I'm fairly certain that the car shows up in their system either at the same time or before it shows up here. Whether your dealer has logged into the system and checked for it is another story.

I agree about the Moreno Cars and that we all need not get too worked about it. However, it sure does make one curious as to "whats up with that" ....I'm sure it will be apparent in due time.

Allocation and production schedules "is what it is" and a couple months from now, we will no longer care what drives these decisions. It would be nice to know how the production schedule pecking order is created, but I'm sure that is a need to know basis, and full of who you know favors mixed in with a bit of lottery type of luck.

I've been at 3400 since the 19th and have had a tpw of 3/23 since then...but still no VIN...wtf. I guess if it gets built today its still technically ok but i have no idea how someone who orders the first possible day is barely gonna crack the first 2000 built...:(

Thanks UCF and Heinz for all the hard work, my dealer didnt' believe me when I said that the site had a VIN tracker!
