It already has one, you keep backing until you hear a crunching sound then stop.

Reread my post. I didn't say it was impossible. I also wouldn't consider the 91 Camaro a refresh. The good news is the 5th gen is selling at levels it hasn't sold at in a long time. Selling at a larger number helps to justify the cost for the refresh (a la the 69). I suspect if the 6th gen is still coming in a year or two the refresh will be fairly minor.

Maybe they could cut two cylinders off the LT1 v8 and make a 4.6L DI V6 like they made a 4.3 V6 out of the 5.7L years ago...

Dude... 90* V6's shake like hell, I would rather a small V8. I've owned 3 of them and they tear through mounts like crazy and if you get a mount worth a damn they shake (balance shaft or not) like hell. I would almost rather a 4.3L V8 they had an LT1 version of it in Police Caprices in the 90's supposedly they were a good compromise.

I was thinking the NY Auto Show was this weekend, but just learned it is not until March 29th. Guess I'll have to wait a couple more weeks.

Umm.. they did. How did either of you miss this? It was in the press conference and just about every tidbit released. Its based off the truck version if the LT1 but its still LT based.

2014 4.3L V-6 EcoTec3 AFM VVT DI (LV3) for Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra

http://media.gm.com/media/us/en/gm/n...3-engines.html

A family of three all-new engines
The EcoTec3 lineup for the 2014 Silverado and Sierra 1500 includes a 4.3L V-6 and 5.3L and 6.2L V-8s, all matched with proven, efficient six-speed transmissions in the United States and Canada.

The new 4.3L V-6 will offer budget-conscious customers a state-of-the art truck engine, with ample torque to power a crew cab and tow a trailer.
The new 5.3L V-8 is engineered for more horsepower, more torque and better fuel economy than the current 5.3L V-8.
The new 6.2L V-8 is expected to be the most capable engine offered in any light-duty pickup truck.

SAE certified horsepower and torque ratings and EPA fuel economy estimates for the new Silverado and Sierra will be available beginning early next year.

Now that I see that pic I remember reading about that... I hope it doesn't shake like hell. I don't like the choice of either mushy motor mounts that tear once a year or a vehicle that shakes like crazy... neither is fun.

Do you recall, in the '90s, when Busch Grand National cars ran V6 engines...to about 9,000 rpm?!

Yup...the Chevy versions were based on the 90 degree 4.3 V6, not entirely foreign, architecture-wise, to what we'll see very shortly in Silverado/Sierra, and have had now since the '80s.

Sure do and they were a totally different level and had different standards than what a person wants in a DD.

First they had common journal cranks and were balanced to the millionth of a gram (slight exaggeration) plus the whole odd vs even fire thing, yes they ran like scalded dogs and were also running splayed valves and could be made to iirc 5.5L.

The difference with the street version is profound and the lack of interchangeability between the two ends shortly after the block.

I'm pretty intimate with the motor I have 300K+ miles driving and maintaining the 4.3L. I've even rebuilt two of them. I love the little stump puller but it can be frustrating all the same... kind of like my wife. LoL

I had 4 vehicles with that motor and to my experience none of them "shook like hell" as you say. Yes they shook but I never had one issue with motor mounts. All 4, from the 1988 to the 1996 were great engines and never had a issue other than one got an oil leak and my son didn't check the oil and spun a bearing at 175,000 miles.

Maybe because I wasn't at the press conference and never saw that info, basically because I dont really care about the new truck release. You don't have to act that way in your reply...

Act in what way? I meant no disrespect to you or anyone, and I cannot predict how other individuals will interpret my text as it cannot properly convey emotions. You criticize the way I acted, yet respond in the way you did in your previous post to Firefighter? Perhaps you should be less defensive?
