I drive a big rig Pete with a 18 spd a lot. I get enough manual to last me a long time with that. Auto is faster.

Auto, so my wife could drive it. Well that's reason I used so I could get it. Remote start is a plus.

On a serious note that shifting was decent, but not really special. I felt THAT was average. But, I will agree that if you can't shift a manual that quickly you should just stick with an auto.

I don't think power shifting your manual car is average. I wonder how many people driving manual cars can do this. I cant ..well i have never really tried in the manual vehicles I've driven. It sounds awesome when done right.

it's funny, I have owned allot of auto v8's - firebird, trans am, 2 chevelle's etc. and I have owned allot of manuals, 240z, 300zx, pathfinder, etc. but the only American v8 manual I have owned was a loaded down work truck, I can imagine the V8 manual would be a total blast to drive. i'm wondering what would re-sell better with todays range of auto tranny drivers. i'm thinking it's really up to whats happening in your life these days, if you have lots of time and money to drive for fun, get the M, if your stuck on I-95 3 hrs a day, get the A. enjoy them both.

I honestly have to wonder how much attention people who would buy a manual transmission performance car really pay to "resale value". I don't think we ever even considered this aspect for any of the cars we've bought since 1970 (all bought new, all manuals).

Our experience suggests that manual transmission cars may be more likely to be considered "keepers", where resale value becomes irrelevant.

I went with auto because I'm lazy and would rather have a free hand to do other things like reach for my 9mil. The $1185.00 auto option was worth the compromise between paddle shifting and laid back.

Manual, because I am a man.
The fact that these amazing cars are even offered in an auto format is patently offensive to me. Yeah, yeah, I know that Camaro has always had an auto, but still...

I saw my car on the lot and liked the color with the spoiler that it has but it was an auto. I thought real sports cars had to have a manual. After about the fourth time at the lot and it was still there the salesman talked me into driving it. I love this car. The tap shift works pretty well and in the end with my screwed together spine and bad legs a manual probably wouldn't have been as much fun on a regular basis for me.
