My SS order is valid and will be delivered, just a month later than expected

The sales manager of my local Chevy dealer just called me because I sent a urgent email to my salesperson regarding all this nonesense. He told me that he had talked with his inventory manager, who spoke with GM earlier today regarding his allocation, and how it will unfold. He told me in no uncertain terms that his allocation of 17 Camaros is secure. He went on to say that the sold orders would be filled first, and that he expects the SS to be delivered in the first shipment. His dealership will be getting four Camaros a month per his allotment. I am #2 of 17, with myself aand #1 both getting SS Camaros. He told me that I will be receiving the 2nd SS delivered to his dealership, and expects that in either the first or second delivery. This lines up more with what Scotty is saying then what the doomsdayer's are saying. This information, according to the manager, is directly from GM. So, I expect to get my ABM 2SS/RS Camaro sooner than later. Hope everyone else does as well.

WOW! I was finally able to get through 24 pages of this stuff. I guess my comment a month ago about being concerned about getting my 1SS before early May, when the snow and salt were still on the NY roads, was not warranted after all. The only thing that will make me more upset than potentially waiting until October to get my car will be when I stop at my dealership tomorrow and finding out that no one attended the viewing. But in an effort to help everyone of you great Camaro nuts out, and being that I only live about 90 miles away for Oshawa, I have decided to volunteer my weekends to GM to work the assembly line. That way maybe we can get our SS earlier. How about it guys, can I pick up any of you on the way in?

Like my dad always says, "Only humans can have this much fun!"

Still - Long Live Camaro!

That's me as well...#1 of 13 allocations. I think I'll see a 3 month delay personally...provided my dealer orders my car and not a lot V8 to mark up and sell!

First month is V6 and maybe even second month...but after that you should start seeing V8s in the allocations for dealers to order. Just have to make sure your dealer submits your order!

That is what is going to be important now!!

Reading 25 pages of posts, and I am wore out. Let's hope things turn out better for us SS V8 hard core Camaro fans.

It is so ironic reading this and knowing these delays happen every day in my own company, yet I am now one of the ones feeing bummed about the pre-order status.

I think it is time to go visit Mr Miller and enjoy one of his fine beverage products.

Peace

WOW! If you look really hard you can see a 2010 Camaro driving down the road on the other side of the lake!

This has been the most entertaining evening of Camaro5 reading I have had since joining.

We are going to get our Camaro's. Just another bump in the road. My dealer confirmed everything CamaroScotty has said and I am confident all is well. They have been on top of this camaro adventure and have been spot on when it comes to information and updates. So there are going to be some v6's on the road first. Thats great. All the more reason to make them look different!!

Are you kidding? Did you see the way that guy in the video tried to make out like the V6 was the "reason" for Camaro?

I work in Georgetown, Ky and listened to a lot of Cat fans about the game. One guy kept saying how many shots out ten could Sosa make like he did for that last 3? I told him he only needed to make one.
You don't know what is to have to work with some of those Cat fans
FWIW, I'm pulling for both teams.
The Chevy dealer can not wait till I drive my Camaro to work

We should have all seen this coming. On the one hand we wanted to think the enthusiasts were most important to GM, why else the pre-order program? But at the same time I knew, as I posted here, it was unlikely they would deliver all our pre-orders before dealers got stock cars. Plus now we find out the larger selling V6 has greater priority. So, profitability and the bottom line is what GM cares about most. Unreasonable? Probably not.
Don't get me wrong, I believe GM wants to make us enthusiasts happy, just on their schedule. A lot of us expected more than we should have. Our fault, not GM's! Now we wait and save more, or buy something else.

wow. . . i feel drained now. . but i do have a quesiton. . .

My dealership isn't very large at all. . . said their allocation was only 2. . . I got my order in first and another guy got his in about 3 weeks after me. . both are SS. . .

Question 1. Will he still receive V6's even though he was only alloted two cars to begin with?
Question 2. Since our initail "pre-order" means jack $hit. . what does my dealership have to do to make sure my order is placed in the system? I mean. . If our orders where for "marketing" will they ever be picked up to be made? Does the dealership have to submit it again I guess is where I am going with this?

Thanks and my brain hurts now. . .
