Motivation is absolutely the hardest part, but that's why we're
all here. Support and encouragement, that's what it's all about.
If your struggling, stop and think real hard about the end result
and how great you're going to look and feel when you get there.
I'd give it a try before CFD get there

Don't lose motivation! Just don't think so hard about a strict weight loss schedule, keep a good steady lifestyle and before you know it you'll surpass ur goals! I'm living proof, change ur lifestyle don't let it become a chore.

I like this!

I've made some big changes in the last two weeks! I am now caffeine free and soda free save for two small glasses on different days. This is a huge accomplishment for me. I'm careful about what and how much I eat. I look at every meal differently now and...

I like it!

I love this thread!

Reading some of the last few pages of posts, it seems like some people are getting discouraged and may even feel like giving up. Remember, weight loss and fitness are a marathon, not a sprint!! There may be times when your goal seems out of reach. You WILL achieve your goal by taking it one step at a time!! If you stumble, if you fall....have the courage to get back up again and march on!! Don't let short term failures get in the way of your long term goals!! Don't give up!! Don't take your eye off the prize!!

This is so true. Everyone should also keep in mind that although it may seem difficult at first it does get easier and after not too long it becomes natural. It's like anything else you learn to do, the more you practice the better you get.

Hey team, keep working. Set small, attainable goals for yourself. It's ok to have an overall goal, but break it down into small steps and strategies. For example:
For the next month, I will walk 30 minutes a day...that's a simple strategy to help with an overall goal of becoming more fit or losing weight, or whatever it is that you want to do. Some on here have more sophisticated strategies, because they are further along in their journey than others, but any small steps toward improvement are important!

Keep it up guys. You'll have days and weeks of being totally unmotivated. Give it time and you will hit your goals. You will feel soooo much better when you get their. Your health and attitude will improve along with your all around quality of life. Make fitness and dieting fun. It does not have to be a chore!

Need some advice for next week.

On Monday I am having 3 wisdom teeth pulled and after that I will be on 72 hours quarters. Being on quarters means I can't leave my home except for to get food. Since all of my workouts are either at the gym or at the track, what kind of no-cost things can I do in that 3 day period to keep myself from just sitting there watching tv or browsing the internet and eating soft snacks?

For those that have Android phones or Iphones a good app that you can download for free until 31 Jan is Runkeeper Pro, after the 31st you can get Runkeeper Lite or pay for Pro. It allows you to either use gps for running or you can manually input data from the gym or any other location. It is actually a pretty good program and after your workout it uploads it to runkeepers website so you can see the data up close and personal.

Sometimes seeing the numbers in front of you can help keep you motivated.

I'll be starting my regime soon. Ordered p90x and a friend in California and I are going to compete using this program. Both of us are highly competitive guys, so we figured if we emailed/called/text each other every few days, the trash talk will be high and help maintain the attitude we need to continue. We're of similar weight and builds... so it's now officially a competition.

Put me down for 25 pounds.

Oh, and for the record... it was Bonnie's commitment to her own workout this past year, and watching her kick ass in competition, that pushed me over the edge into committing to this. It's nice to know success stories, and I've watched hers' unfold for over a year. Thanks, BonBon!
