So I thought the weights were supposed to be gone on later builds? I got mine in and it has weights... WTH!!?

Just checked mine, #33280, and it still has the weights on the calipers. Not painted either. Can't believe GM is still rigging a fix like this. I like the car but think maybe I should have bought a Z06. Both the Vettes I have are well put together with no "bandaids."

Summone, what are your last 5 digits in vin? Over 35000?

GM customer service call back Wed. 9/23 to say she was still waiting on tech support to get back to her. I will call her tomorrow.

Final word from GM engineers is to tape them back on!

My local dealerdhip is looking for the mfg. to get the same ones the factory stuck on. You would think a little communication would solve that much quicker.

I cannot believe that GM is satisfied with sticking a weight that was designed for a wheel that may get 250 degrees onto a brake caliper that may get over 500 degrees.

Like I told customer service (that's a JOKE), Corvettes don't have them, Escallades don't have them, Dodge SRT-8's don't have them.......why US!

I think more people will have to make some NOISE at their local dealerships before we get the corect fix for this one.

We've tracked our SS a couple of times now and did quite a bit of brake testing.. in other words we got the brakes REALLY hot.

The weights never came off.

In any event it's a moot point now since we switched to Baer brakes.. lol

The Brembos are very similar to the WRX STi's the STi's had a bracket with a rubber piece on them Its very common to have something but wheel weights? Im sure GM will bring out a proper anti-vibration piece in 2011.

LMAO!! Welcome to the thread. I think we established that... The previous poster was asking a facicious question... As me roomed earlier it's on no other car with Brembos why this one? Noise damening is the correct answer yes... To the overall ultimate reason, but the question is. If it's not on those cars meaning their brakes don't need them to not squeel, why the Camaro?...

Theyll probly do a TSB and slap on a bracket thing. This is the first year for the car, stuff like this is bound to happen. I bought mine accepting that stuff like this would happen.
