I think Matt's plan is to get get the cams in and get a couple of final passes on the first dyno to be consistent and finish the heads / cams on the new dyno that will be in shop. A lot of "ifs" right now. The end goal is for valid before and after runs to see the net gain.

Drawback with the current dyno setup twofold: Tracy / Matt have to rent (and schedule in advance) by the hour and it was down a portion of this past week. Either one of those is problematic but both together is a pita.

I am interested in purchasing these cams but every week I ask about the progress of this project and I always hear "next week we will know".

I know you don't answer exactly like that but whats happened to the cams? Have they been eaten by dingos or a great white shark?

It took a little over a week to grind the new set and almost two weeks to get them here from AU - that's three weeks. RX started the tear down this morning and should be complete sometime Monday - that pretty damn quick except for the shipping.

Don't take this the wrong way - but - as I've stated before we are the first anywhere in the northern hemisphere installing cams into an LLT. We're almost done with the R&D and initial install in 3 months what the big name Cam companies would not attempt because of economics. We've had so many responses of "you should have done this or that" the standard response now is "if that's the solution where's your first set?" I don't see anyone else with a set of cams for the LLT.

Think this thru: give up your car for 3+ months, drop $15k of your personal money into it and get RX and MACE, two of the best companies to work with, to put their reputations on the line into a project with no guarantee of the outcome to deliver a new product that no major company will do.

We'll take as long as we need to get this right.

Not to mention the brilliant work and long hours put in by Vince at Trifecta and also a couple of punters in Australia who pulled apart their own cars to fit the very first attempts. Nice work Mace, Trifecta, RX and guinea pigs.

Hi Jarp!!

Very true - we're all in the guinea pig group at one point or another!

Has other folks efforts been documented on the web anywhere? Thought it would be nice to see their efforts and give credit for all of you who paved the way with the Commodores to make the Camaro version possible.

Most of the mule work has been done by Mick (Wildfire) on the JC forums. Who has pulled down his car twice now to fit cams and also did a lot of work on the original MACE IM spacers and the VCM/MACE LLT OTRCAI. Here is the cam development thread on Just Commodores - http://forums.justcommodores.com.au/...velopment.html

Oh obviously Steve (MACE) has been the Grand Poobah when it come to V6 aftermarket innovation in Oz and Vince at Trifecta has made this all possible through the tuning too.
