While I don't think I'll be really happy with the new Z/28 (because I want different things than what it looks like we'll get), I'm sure it will be well received by most people.

I'm really anxious to see its weight.

Thanks for hijacking the thread guys. I was starting to get tired of reading what people had to say about the upcoming Z.

Mine is more accurate than most. Apperently.

I too am interested in the weight of the new Z-28.

I'll be competing with it..........

Never said they didn't perform. What I meant was it isn't accurate for you to know how much your mach was producing. When you mod a car doesn't mean you improved peak power. Maybe you improved the curve and that's why Its pulling harder. You don't know because its not a real dyno. So get over the fact I called you on the fact you are throwing out numbers yourself you can't prove what you're saying is accurate.

Yes. I had mine calibrated back in o8 before blowing my Z's engine. It must have been over 490 because it was pulling 1 g at the track. No seriously I wish I knew how much it was making to run a 12.5002 at 111.9.

Let's see, the only mods to my car were an electronic ignition, a full exhaust, and a tweaked carb. Altogether I figure that, in the early 90's I was getting about 50hp for that, a notion which I also based on the fact that two Mustang magazines tried almost exactly the same mods on an engine almost exactly like mine. (there were minor variances in both of them to be fair, but minor is the key term here)

Still, I suppose virtually the exact same setup running virtually the exact same 1/4 mile times could make vastly different hp. I think the one doing too much assuming here might be you.

1/4 mile times don't lie. 400hp in a 3600lb car does not a mid to high 14 second car...best effort no less.... make.

Is it more accurate because you don't have to balance yourself while using a third pedal?.......

How am I assuming? I never said the z had 400+ HP. I just called you on throwing numbers out that you really can't prove. So because I had open exhaust ly headers ls6 intake hypertech tune and such I should gain 45+ HP in my old 4th gen because some mag got 45hp on the hypertech tune? Like I said you didn't dyno all u can do is assume. Just because the rating on my old z was 305 doesn't meant my z had that. Could have been 280-325. Depends on day and engine itself.

If you have the exact same mods then yeah, you should get close to the same results, unless you are arguing that GM's build quality is so sketchy that two engines can be grossly different despite near identical specifications.

We can def say that about fords 99 cobra. I am say air density and temp has a huge effect on power. And I have ran across the freak power engines. But hey we are dynoing everything so we know exactly what each car makes the same power as every other model with that engine. Yep. Very accurate.
