From my point of veiw. The Mustang is a amazing car.The Camaro is a amazing car.It all boils down to which one you like better.I used to have a 06 Mustang GT.I really liked that car.My only complaint was the lack of low end torque. On the other hand my dads used to have an 2000 Trans Am.That thing was a beast. As far as complaining about being faster by a couple of tenths of a second in the quarter mile.Well thats kinda funny we would even be argueing about that.Who really goes to the track in a stock car anyway? Most of us are thinking about modding our new baby as soon as we park it in our driveway.I plan on test driving both cars and whatever one i like more is the one I'll buy.The real winner of the Mustang-Camaro battle? We are!!! Either one you choose you cant go wrong.LONG LIVE AMERICAN MUSCLE !!!!!!

101mph trap speed? Is it me or does that seem way off even for a stock car. For them to gain 5mph trap speed would suggest that they gained 50hp from a CAI and tune. Damn if thats true they gained more from that than I did with LT headers, high flow cats, CAI, and dyno tune. Something is fishy to me about the stock run. The CAI, tune run seems about right for the mods and track conditions.

I know you got to be running at Thunder Valley and that track is pure S#@! but it doesnt change trap speed too much. Truthfully I dont know how you gained 5mph without mods unless you needed a fuse pull or something. In fact I think thats what was wrong with that other L99 and when they uploaded the tune it put the Octane tables back.

Don't forget the facts. Camaro didn't just disappear, it was beaten into hiding not because of performance but because of piss poor sales. It came back with an exciting look and a great motor and did indeed surpass the mustangs. A few years ago I had friends with ls1 cars (both ss and trans ams) , great motors nice cars. But, ultimately FAILURES in the market place. Mustang stomped them in the court of public opinion. Likely will this year just as Camaro stomped Mustang last year! For all of the attacks on FORD in general. Ford didn't take a dime of Government bail out. Ford post a $2,000,000,000 profit last 1/4. Clearly they are doing something right. The sync package is cool as hell. The handling they have gotten out of a live axle is impressive! The new focus is a great little car. The Taurus sho is an amazing car, though I prefer the pontiac/holden G8. BUT, Again 2 BILLION DOLLAR PROFIT LAST QUARTER!!! Doing something right. I'm Ford & GM fan. A Corvette Grand Sport is one hell of a price per performance bargin. The CTS-V is an amazing freak! The ZR1 is perhaps the big bad booty daddy of earth when it comes to supercar bargains. If one can have a hundred thousand dollar car bargain. Ford has no comparison for any of these three cars. For the Camaro it is very much a competitor and at the very very least an even competitor. But, let's look at both cars and both companies in a realistic manner and not just with blind loyalty.... Crapstang??? Wow!!! Never have I seen a position written in such clear undeniable terms. Clearly Crapstang presents an argument so unassailable in it's clarity of logic that proffering any sort of position to the contrary would a feudal act of desperation by someone unable to grasp the airtight nature of the Crapstang syllogism. I mean, talk about having a battle of wits with an unarmed man!! I think it was Plato who first coined the phrase, but even he didn't use it as effectively as you. Hey how about Turdmaro....whatdya think? Does Turdmaro make any viable points at all??? Yeah, you're right. It sound like something a juvenile dork would say... huh? LOL last I checked even the 5th gen Camaro is not as fast or quick as a 2003 Cobra. And it doesn't want any of the GT500. I know you probably live in denial though. |

A 3.73 gear equipped 2011 GT is out of gear in 4th at 112mph. That is how you explain it. And yes I know he went 12.3 @ 110 with drag radials but he was forced to make an extra shift on the run. |

yeah ive been to the track when the MPH's were low like that (yes even Sacramento Raceway). Sometimes even in seemingly decent DA's (especially infineon raceway) the traps will be low one day and more in line (with the internet) on other days. Only time it would be a big deal is if your car is the only one slower.

![]() I knew it was the track because I raced a mustang with full exhaust work, CAI and tune and he was running a solid 14.0@105~, and the z06s were running mid 12s. |
