The biggest thing I noticed and I can get about 28/29 if I remember to shift right before 2000 RPMs. Try that and see what you get.

P.S. on the highway I've been averaging 75 MPH.
I agree, the higher RPM's are not good for mileage. It is hard to keep the speed down to test all the variables but I just wanted to see what works best.
MY NORMAL speed is usually @72-75mph on the freeway, so I know I will not see 29mpg, but I will take 26-27.

Road trip mileage numbers.

Drove from Omaha to Detroit area and back. 728 miles one way. 26.33 eastbound at night, 26.1 westbound daytime. Averaged 70mph.

Happy with that! V6 has plenty of passing power too. Howdy to the Blue SS who passed me near Benton Harbor Tuesday Morning.

Last week I woke up to -4 degrees, started my car and had a check engine light. Onstar did a diagnostic and told me there were 3 codes. Engine Misfire, Exhaust and Low Power. I didn't get the numbers but I took it to the dealer. They didn't/couldn't say what happened but had to re-program the ECM. My mileage for the last six months has been poor. 16 in the city and 26 highway. I was thinking I may as well be driving an 8. Well, after the shop visit, power seemed to improve. Mileage on a highway trip yesterday got up to 31.1 @ around 70 avg. mph. It is still unforgiving to any quick acceleration or stops for coffee. Anyone else experience this?

I think your alright. Highway at about 70mph nets me anywhere between 29-33mpg depending on the incline of the road. City nets me ~20-21mpg. Fast food stops kill the gas mileage (0mpg while stopped... 5 minutes in a drive-thru will kill the mpg meter).

2011 V6 2LT in Central Texas

I use CarCare software to enter my fill ups. Cool software. www.carcaresoftware.com. The reports are awesome! You can run reports comparing gas station mpg (Shell vs Chevron vs Exxon, etc), MPG vs octane, mpg vs month, etc.

I have a company car so have only had 3 fill-ups since 1/11/11 delivery. 890 miles on car. Weather has been cool, better mpg, but expect when it gets 100+ deg in central Texas it'll drop 2-4 mpg.

So I have 19.4mpg 90% city with 89 octane. Not had a hwy drive yet. This is with a Roto-Fab CAI & Solo Mach XLT catback exhaust. Expected the CAI & exhaust to give me a little more mpg but apparently not yet.

Might try 5 fill-ups with 89 octane and 5 fill-ups with 93 to compare.

Here's one nicely developing trend since purchased, all 89:
Jan'11 - 18.86 mpg
Feb'11 - 19.80 mpg
Mar'11 - 20.43 mpg

I rented a 2010 Camaro 1LT from Hertz in Chicago Oct'10. Drove it to Minneapolis, to Milwaukee & back to Chicago. Broke 30mpg on DIC!

I drive around 500 miles a week on my commute.
It's 80% freeway, 10% country roads and the rest stop and go Cleveland traffic. I'm getting a consistent 27 MPG (a little better in the summer) on 87 octane. I will admit that I don't get into the throttle too much and short shift most of the time. I still have my fun, but pick my spots. I have to. It's more than 60 bucks to fill it.

Really?! Maybe thats the problem I was experiencing, not soo bad now, but I had crappy performance and low gas milage, 14mpg when I first got her up to about a year, then she suddenly got better Still bad mpg wise. I should take another v6 out for a spin to see if they feel any peppier then mine

I'm at a little over 10k miles. My avg speed usually shows about 33-35mph (and sadly that is about 80% highway - in traffic). My avg mpg was running about 18-19. I installed the Injen CAI and it is now closer to 21mpg.

I still wish I was seeing the higher numbers that yall up north are getting. I wish there was any non-ethanol station in the area so I could see if that is the issue or not (all stations here have a minimum 10% added)

I have performed this experiment on the way into work many times now. So I did it again this morning. Set the cruise at 65 MPH. It is a 25 mile drive. This is using the DIC and resetting the avg. Best I have seen is 33 MPG. Today it was 35.9 MPG. Interesting. Only difference was my cold tire PSI started at 38 instead of my normal 35. And my under hood (inner liner) mat is off the Camaro while working on a cosmetic change.

I am averaging for the life of the Camaro 24.3 MPG that is over 13,000 miles and 26 passes at the track.

I've been averaging 21 mpg, mix of highway/city driving on my commute, although I've noticed an uptick as the weather has gotten a little warmer here.
