When possible, give your Camaro a good bath, and spend some time getting a good coat of wax/polish on it, and you'll be fine.

Thanks for the info! She got a bath every weekend this summer, but I'm curious to see how that pans out during the fall, winter, and spring. It usually rains on the weekends, so I'll be playing it by ear. I do use a Meguires wash. I'm going to look for those matts!

For the pre-Zaino "Dawn wash", I can't find any of the recommended "original blue Dawn".

All I can find is a blue Dawn with the original scent but it has "power scrubbers" and it says it's ultra concentrated.

Is this okay to use?

You'll be OK using this. I'd recommend using about 1 capful per a 5 gal. bucket.

You will love Zaino's. Easy to use, great shine. Bugs wpe off. If you clay it as well, the paint will be like velvet to the touch.

I'm really looking forward to it. I went all out and bought their Ultimate Protection Kit. I have everything and I can't wait to use it!

Zymol Carbon wax is an incredible product, especially for dark paint. It does have some negatives however...you have to get it off before it dries, and it leaves all those classic dried white wax areas where you missed getting it off. But wow, does it last. I've heard of guys using it once once per year...but that varies with climate, location, driving habits, garage (or no), etc.

I used to be a guy that enjoyed hand polishing, etc...but no more. The new clear coat paints are VERY hard, compared to older cars...so the days of hand polishing are long gone for me. To get rid of swirls and haze, you almost have to go with a machine these days.

I still like to put on a wax or sealant by hand...its sort of therapeutic I think.

Moose,

I Zaino'd her today!

Just need a little clarification. I know you apply thin, even layers but it was so thin I could barely even see it. It was nearly invisible. Is that how it's supposed to be?

I only put on one coat of Z5 because I ran out of time but the car looks great. Can't wait to apply three layers of Z2 soon.

Thanks.

You, sir, did it absolutely correct!

What he said! Sorry for not responding sooner.

I generally use about a dime sized dollop of polish per body panel...Zaino is spread very thin.

Glad to read you're happy. Adding Z2 and more layers will only create a deeper, wetter look.

Great, thanks. I was a little worried because it was just so darn thin. I honestly could barely even see it. I was worried I might miss a spot. I kept getting up close to it and look at from different angles, trying to see it. I can't imagine what my neighbours must have thought, watching me do that. Lol.
