The route

I started reading the 26 pages in this post, hoping to find if a route has been planned. Can anyone tell me are we headed over the Grape vine, or headed East from Bfield into the high desert? Has that been determined yet? Thanks

I got mines at Walmart for about 25 bones. Big 5 has them as well and so does Fry's.

Fry's
The restaurant is closed but the parking lot is still open. The truckers still stop there and park. There should be enough room for all of us.

Potential route added to first post.
Looks like Norcal should leave around 5AM.
Fresno should decide if they are waiting for Norcal or coming to Bakersfield and wait for them there.

Is this what you added?

Quote:
Leave Cabazon by 2PM
Possible gas up and meet with Canadian/Vegas group in Blythe at 4-4:30PM.(working on this)
Leave Blythe around 4:30-5PM
Arrive at hotels around 7:30-8PM
If so, we'll be late to the meet and greet

It'll be right on time. It all depends if we stop at blythe for the canda/vegas group.
7 is just when people will start arriving. I'm guessing everyone will be mingling in the hotel parking lot and some will go out to dinner.

I was informed by my better half that the females will be upset if they don't get "primping" time before the meet and greet. If we do join the others in Blythe they need to meet us on the roll so we don't have to stop cause we'll be stopping in Quartzsite for 93

If that's the plan, then I'll just tell them to meet us in quartzsite.
So if you want to stop at Quartzsite, It'll be around 4:30. We will be probably be heading out of there around 5 with such a large group. We'll still arrive at the hotels at around 7:30 or 8.

I agree about letting them meet us there, instead of stopping. We will be rolling pretty deep by then, and the less stops, the better.

We can do like what we're planning for Manteca (since we're only 30 min into the drive). Make a call when we're 10 miles out and have them stage at the onramp or near the freeway and call again as we approach. We'll slow as they join in and continue to the next planned stop.

Just a thought..

The thing is, you said you want to get there at 7. But even if we follow our current schedule, the earliest we'll get there will be 7:30. That's without stopping for gas at Quatzsite.

If we leave Cabazon by 2, it's 160 miles to Quartzsite (2 hours at 80; 4PM) then fuel for 30 minutes max (at the Pilot there's at least 12 pumps and across the freeway more). Leave Quartzsite by 4:30 and it's 154 miles to Chandler and if traffic is good we should be there by 6:30.

Make sense?

You would be correct sir. In order to make sure we arrive by 7:00 then NorCal should probably leave by 4:00A.M. in case we hit any bad traffic spots.
