They initially projected to produce 80,000 to 100,000 cars the first year if I remember correctly. Therefore, sold orders only make up 10% of the projected sales.

Now that I have had time to give more thought to it and remove the emotion of knowing I am going to have to wait a little longer it all makes sense. So 2000 of the sold orders get filled right away and the other 8000 take 30-60 days more. Thats not too much to suffer thru. I think GM has an obligation to get as many cars sold to show the government they are doing the right thing to get the company turned around. So if 90% of the anticipated demand is for the v6, they have to go that direction. Besides, I would rather them get everything possible included in the launch of the SS, including ABL, then have to just take what they give you.
Thank you

I'm not saying you should... I'm saying that GM needs to come out of the 1970s and join the rest of us on the internet. They don't call this the "information age" for nothin'. They need to take part and share information instead of keeping customers in the dark.

And think of how much $$$ GM could save by doing a webcast instead of some fancy satellite broadcast.

Oh really? Would you like to show me some "upward of 45k" versions?? Cause I sure can't seem to find them.

and Im sure they will. They do not have a full time internet forum moderator. Scott is working full time with the car shows, and after his hard day today, I'd bet we hear a reply. He simple can't be here 24/7, but he will come.

Sorry, but after months of customers waiting You feel BETTER telling folks there is a delay in the launch?! Ok man.....

In a couple months as I said earlier, things will be better. All we have done tonight is keep the GM folks from doing anything else but watching us....I think we should have charge admission and got down to some serious business

Great bunch of people here...Nite Scotty!

You ain't "in the dark" any more; you now know that Monty Hall Chevrolet in Pavement Narrows, Iowa is going to get a silver V6 "just because", while you, a real live paying (MSRP), ordering customer, waits. How enlightening.

Fbodfather is a great guy and great representative for GM...as all the folks at GM do, put a positive spin on everything when it comes to stuff like this....there are positives to pull from this....I'm just glad they are building the car, everything else will work out.

They don't have a marketing team? Apparently they canned all their web designers (or everyone that knows HTML for that matter) since they can't update the chevrolet.com/camaro site either. they could at least make the ordering announcement past tense or something. How hard would it be to stick up a blog and post on it every once in a while? Once a month would be better than what we're getting now. And opening up to "new media" would be GREAT PR for GM.

There was far more in the IDL than just the launch delay. I'm not judging from a single item. I'm sure there's more than one that knows it frustrates me just as much.
