It isn't. It was like that when they first hooked it up. They never stuck a wand in the tail pipe.

So no AFR was checked.

Should I do the fuse pull again? I won't be driving the car for the next 4 days cause I go back on duty. So It will sit for 4 days. Whatcha think?

my question is.. why did GM make car goto in safe mod without a check engine light telling you it did.. now u can get car from dealer that cheaped out put 89 or 87 and have a slow camaro and not know it..
it should atleast test timing after say 360miles to see if you put 93 in next tank to come out of safe mod

Nope Bone Stock. I wanted a baseline before I did any mods to see what the changes did to the car and if they were gonna be beneficial or not.

Couldn't hurt I guess. I know it sucks having a slow car and either no one can help, or even worse, no one believes you. I was at my wits end till I blew this whole fuse thing wide open. I want you to time your car. Then do the fuse pull again, then time it RIGHT after the fuse pull. GM, Bay Chevrolet, Local 'Experts' all told me my car was fine.

Time it.......pull fuses.......replace fuses.......time it again........

This way you can go back to the dyno guy and tell him to fix his equipment. lol

The car is "Supposed" to be able to go back to the high octane table by itself... therefore solving the problem (if dealer cheaped 'em).
Sadly, the car doesn't work like that, oddly enough.

Loads More Power Now - Left Car for 2 Weeks!

I wasn't sure whether my car was ok or not - felt quick enough but my other car is a Z06 so I wasn't expecting super-fast; but I did the fuse pull overnight back in August and it seemed to make a minor difference.

But last month I left the car - all connected up and fuse in place - for two weeks and since then it seems at least 10-20% more torquey - it feels like a different car and is ripping away from me in the first three gears. It's now a real monster and SO much fun. Don't need a Z06 now!

Is there a technical possibility that the volatile memory would clear just by not using the car for that long - and the fuse pulling not have worked??

The only other thing I can think of is the temperature - would the cold air (less than zero) make the power go up significantly compared to the summer??

Mileage is 5500.....

I have not gotten to time mine yet... but crazy stuff happened....

Get this

So like i said before... I went from getting "not as good as it should be" gas mileage..... down to "oh this is terrible" gas mileage

Well... i was driving back to hometown for xmas.... and i decided to try something odd...

I wanted to put cheap gas in my car, to force it into low octane mode... then go back to high octane gas.

I figured that way, if I wasnt already in low octane mode, i could make myself get there, then do fuse pull and know it worked.

Well, I had 1/4 of gas and hit the interstate. I reset the meter when i got on the road, and was getting about 15 mpg when i finally had to pull over for gas.

I got 2 gallons of 89 Octane, rather than the 93 that we are supposed to use.

Get this..... I got back on the interstate, reset the meter and was getting 22.5 mpg. Manual math agreed.

the 2 gallons got me almost as far as the 1/4 tank did.

to make it even more odd though,

once i had burnt those 2 gallons down and pulled into the station on fumes, i got 93 octane again. Then got back on the interstate and found myself getting 20 mpg even.

So i got better gas mileage on 89 octane than i did on 93????

Is this because it was on the low octane table? or what?

I dont know, I am just glad im not getting 14-16 anymore

Mileage is 5500.....

Summer temps around 85 (just a guess), DA 2000+ ft.
Winter temps less than 0 degrees, DA -2000 ft.

I'm just guessing there's a 4000 ft. DA difference between your summer conditions and your current condtions. That would make a significant increase in performance.

I felt a significant increase in performance when the temperatures dropped below 75 degrees vs the 85-90 degress.
