Lots of times, invoice is lower than MSRP but with a brand new car with this much hype behind it who knows.

I would like to see what the Dodge and Ford fans think of this. Mostly a particular Dodge fan around here that was all too anxious to see the Camaro be priced right along with his precious Challenger. The 6.2 in the base Camaro is going to smoke the similarly priced R/T and edge out the SRT-8 in a straight line and smoke it in any kind of handling comparison.

Perhaps it's more expensive than you would've hoped, but if you consider what it offers in comparison to it's competition, it's a great value. In another thread we discussed Car and Driver's perspective of hp per dollar and the 31k 1SS is the best value out there.

Don't make it out to be a ripoff please. Because it surely is not. SRT-8 Challenger beating performance for 10k less. Mustang GT smashing performance for 2k or 3k more. So in that respect it's a bargain.

I never tried to make it out to be a ripoff. Didn't mean for it to come off that way if it did. Just a little bummed.

I'm happy with the LS pricing......That's what I'm getting. I think the pricing across the board is fair.

My dilemma, I want the 2LT/RS, but don't want the wheels or spoiler. I wonder how much I would get towards body kit, high wing spoiler, and intake. What is your take on it?

Thanks Scott, Cheryl, John, Al and the entire Camaro team!

Just ordered a 2SS/RS

Thank you

im sure you could work something with your dealer to get different wheels upon delivery and a spoiler delete. or be able to get them as dealer installed options and whatnot. same way the 4 gauge pack is a dealer installed addition to some models

ok all. I just ordered and have some news.

Invoice prices (not including destination charges)

LS - $21,021.53
1LT - $22,566.60
2LT - $25,118.10
1SS - $28,581.53
2SS - $31,591.37

RS invoice on the 2SS is $996
Red Jewel Tintcoat invoice - $296
B7W stripes is $327

I saw invoice prices, actual dealer cost, and employee pricing sheet. This was all I was able to sneak of it.
So by my math there's a 8.6% markup on the 2SS/RS.

Ya, color me confused. When trying to compete with the Mustang (high end) why would you possibly almost double the markup % that is currently used for cars like the Impala and G8 ? Doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

I had similar tires on my M5 and let me tell you, even when driving normal, these tires do not last very long. This is the one thing that was tough to deal with: 4 new tires almost each and every year... I had different sizes in the front than in the rear and they were directional... When we do heavy driving, it can be up around every 6 to 8 months we were having to buy new tires. Eventually, we were buying them in pairs instead of all 4 because the rears, obviously, would wear faster than the fronts.

But we were paying between 1200 to 1400 each time we had to switch out all 4 tires.

Just more food for thought that I noticed wasn't being discussed as much along with all the other pricing discussions going on...

By the way, I've been watching these boards for MONTHS but decided today would be the day I finally register and post my thoughts. I figured it would be easy to remember (anniversary day is the day GM announced pricing.)

Congrats to all those who put their money down on their new Camaro's... I'm HOPING I can wait for the convertibles to come out. It will be tough watching all these coupes driving around though.

True or false: The Camaro LS is the cheapest 300 hp car on the market.

The market they are aiming for majority of the buyers are going to look at price then performance. and well even with the standard equipment on the base v-6 we won't out sell mustang.

"oh I can buy a base GT and buy 3-5k in mods for it and be able to slaughter your SS camaro. blah blah blah" mark my words that will be said many of times. Unless ford has a price increase on their mustangs due to their refresh.

I'm just afraid this will mean the camaro will not sell well. I prey I'm wrong.

I need to hear what the 2SS+RS manual convert will cost me. before I decide what I'm honestly going to do.
Mustang owners will get slaughtered regardless - remember, for a couple grand for cam and intake takes SS over 500hp

Plus the cheapest way for a GT to match stock SS HP numbers is to supercharge which can run over 7 grand (parts and labor), but then kiss your warranty goodbye - all just to beat a stock camaro
