So this new Z28 looks like a decent car. Let's just hope the rumored pricing is inflated.

What are they saying it might cost?
I like it though, be nice to see how it will compare in some of the tests and tracks out there to the current cars out. I am sure a lot of them will end up never seeing what they are stripped down and designed to be, especially if the price stays to high.
But I'd take one, put a radio in the glove box and go have fun!

A lot of publications are listing this higher than the ZL1, so rumored pricing is in the $60s.

That would put it in z06 pricing. Wont happen. If this car is north of $65,000 it will be a terrible flop, dealerships can't even move ZL1's and I'm finding them discounted a few grand now. This car was designed to compete with the Mustang Boss 302 Laguna Seca as that was missing from the Camaro lineup. Now a lot of you say the 1LE should've been the B302/LS competitor, but it was not. The 1LE was meant to compete with the Mustang GT Track Pack cars, which are basically Boss 302's but without the forged 444hp Roadrunner engine. Which is essentially what a 1LE is, a LS3/SS with suspension upgrades.

ZL1 competes with the Shelby GT500
Z28 competes with the Boss 302/Laguna Seca
1LE competes with the GT Track Pack
SS competes with the GT

Personally if I were to buy a Camaro, the Z28 is the model I'd buy.

More than $46K would be stupid and would likely end up an epic fail.

Saying that a ZL1 competes with a GT500 is a kick in the nuts. That car is nothing worth writing home about. Jam a supercharger on an SS and you'll make more power. Do a few suspension upgrades in an SS and you'll handle with it. The Mag ride is neat technology, but it's not a game changer. It's an incremental step forward.

Well, as much as the ZL1 falls short performance wise, that was the car GM decided to run with to compete with the GT500. GM was under the impression they would be going up against a carry-over model of Ford's 550hp 5.4L GT500 from 2011-2012 and had no idea the revised 662hp 5.8L Trinity engine and suspension upgrades were going into the 2013-2014 GT500.

Averaging 40 mpg, going 1400 miles, the cost of fuel is minimal really. I'm thinking $150 in fuel. And i get to go drink his beer, see what I'm buying and hand him a fist full of hundreds, and work on his corvette with him all evening while drinking said beer! It's actually a gun little adventure.
