If you are telling me that your original post was eluding to this IDL, your point that the public should have known better (paraphrasing) is inapproppriate and false. That's why I want printed documentation (which I thought you said you read) from GM that they CLEARLY and UNAMBIGUOUSLY stated to the public that the whole pre-order was nothing more than a survey of sorts.

See last post..."read" = on TV, not actual printed documents. Dealerships that were knuckle-slapped must have been all over the place because several members watched them at their local dealers and Camaro Scotty even posted information here immediately following the IDL's (at least the first one, didn't check for the second or third).
My original point is that the public should have known better than to order if they had doubts or weren't 100% sure of what was taking place. Since they did order because of assumptions, they have no reason to be mad because it didn't work out the way they wanted. That's what I've been saying all along. I agree that it should be handled differently than it has been, but people attacked me when I was explaining how things worked because "YOU DIDN'T PRE-ORDER...YOU DON'T KNOW ANYTHING...STFU!!!" Either way, I'm done with this thread. I'm sick of people only reading what they want to see and just jumping on the complaining bandwagon without knowledge of what they're complaining about (not you, UCF or trm). |

Customer Complaint thread
I have in the past week been calling and emailing GM about this, I have told them many, many times that the buyers (US) need to have more information and fill the pre-orders first. I will continue to do so even after I receive mine.
That because I know how it feel to not know anything about your order. I am sitting here like many others, in waiting........

The fact that customers were not allowed to view the IDL is irrevelent when in fact customers has seen it.
No matter what the reprucussions of that are, the fact remains that GM did release information about the pre orders to the dealerships and the dealers were entrusted to relay the information correctly to the consumer. Now if most dealerships did not watch the feed because they felt it was "Archaic" in technology that is nobodies fault other than the dealerships for not doing right by their customer and obtaining as much information as possible. Literature, and word of mouth knowledge is and was out there. It is up to the consumer to make sure to obtain all knowledge before proceeding. As hylton said it is his right to complain, but to be able to make a valid point one should complain after they obtained all the information they can. If pre order automatically meant "GET YOURS FIRST" wouldn't they just have named it "Get Yours First Program" or something more creative. I cannot believe we are arguing semantics right now. |

If you take the time to read you will see that there are over 50 people here that have not been jumping on a bandwagon. Go ahead and search my name and look at my posts. I have been consistant since this issue has been brought up. R6P orders should be filled before post 3-16-09 orders are processed. We knew that allocations would be in order at each dealer and we knew that ours was not going to be the first built. We knew that someone ordering on 3-14-09 could be filled before someone ordering on 10-16. But we all thought that the R6P orders were going to go out before Dealer Stock Cars and orders taken after production started. Not a personal attack but you should look into a career in politics because you mistate the facts and selectively remember tidbits that serve your argument and then try to decieve the public into thinking you are something you are not. Contribution to the forum is one thing but contribution to society and your fellow man is another.

You know who we are (GM customers who have put money down to buy the product). If you want to know more about me personally and my involvement with Camaros over the past 25 years, shoot me a PM.

I am sorry folks, but this is degenerating into nothing more than a Bitch session. Perhaps it is time for this to be closed.
Everyone of us is anxious as all get out. We want our cars. Those are "Givens." Bottomline, is that many have lost patience. That's understandable in today's "NOW" generation. The bottomline is, we will get our cars, and we should be getting cars spec'd out as we want them. Not a compromise pick from the herd. |

No, that will not happen. I have just as much right here to express my take as you do. I have done so without any personal attacks or flaming anyone.
Disagreements happen, and that is part of life. As such, I will exercise my right to comment as I see fit. |

Great! Then please allow the same level of consideration for others who do not share your point of view.

It just concerns me that things can start to spin in a very bad way when, everyone may jump on the"Bandwagon." Which is so easy for people to do nowadays. Much like a baseball fan who starts to cheer for a team about which they know nothing about. (But in a bad way.) Bottomline, I just like everyone else, wants this bad boy in my drievway ready to scare the bejeezus out of Mustangs and Challengers.

The truth is that we can only complain. GM won't change a well-settled policy on distributing cars. Fbodfather tried to explain to us how it is part of how GM operates, and part of the problem is that GM's customers aren't buyers. They are dealers, and GM has to commit to those dealers. We are only customers to the dealers. GM has no authority over how those dealers sell cars. They can sell them at any price to any person with any conditions. Because GM and other automotive manufacturers must deal with this system, they have to work carefully with dealers to make sure that they are treated equally.

This is exactly why I called seven different dealers in my area, prior to ordering. Six of those dealers wanted over sticker. The seventh one said MSRP or less. Guess which one I ordered through.
Basically, those that do this are Urinating in their own corn flakes. They won't get my business. Hopefully others had done the same! Thank you Alexander Graham Bell, you saved me a lot of time making my decision.
