You can do a lot to stay fit with doing general exercising at home and around town WITHOUT going to the gym. Pushups, sit-ups/planks, pull-ups, running, biking, jumping rope, hiking, rock climbing, swimming...

That said, I also live in SoCal, where some of the most vain people I've ever met live...
Yea, I totally hear ya on that. The way they guy mentioned it with such an absolute statement kinda raised my eyebrow.

Most everyday gyms are horrendous. Any chain fitness center is generally filled with many tools.

I go to a small, performance gym now with high level trainers and athletes. We even train with a few professional athletes. I live in a condo with no access to a pool or anything. To say you can be physically fit without the right program or tools is highly debatable.

I'm too lazy to do that. And I hate cardio. I only do it on my non-lifting days while I'm trying to put on weight, and even that is only to keep my appetite up. When I cut bodyfat in the spring, I do it 4 days a week, and it's miserable. I used to run 20 miles a week or so, but I just got tired of it. My general level of fitness definitely isn't as good as it used to be.

I have used them recently and today I used them in a full arm workout and I must say I am impressed. My arms are beat, even with dropping weight slightly as to become ucustomed to the new grip. I normally have a very strong grip and large forearms but these beat the hell out of them and the pump was significant. I wouldn't hesitate to recomend trying these or if you have access to fat grip bars give them a try. Although nothing to compare it to here is the pump in my left arm.

Yeah. Those forearms are from a "fat grip bar".

The above was a fair and non biased opinion. To ensure the accuracy of my assement I performed two of my regular workouts with no changes in weight, reps or tempo, the only change was the use of a fatter grip. Also to further the accuracy of my report I used my left arm as an example, I am right handed and seeing that I am not currently dating anyone specifically, it could be said that my right arm, forearm and grip are currently recieving more of a workout than my left, but then again, I think that would also classify as a fat grip workout as well.

The workout implied above, when performed in the traditional manner, low intensity warm up reps, to promote blood flow and help in the prevention of injury, followed by higher intensity, higher rep sets, utilizing progressive resistance has proven excellent in the promotion of muscle size and strength as well as promoting hormonal responses proven effective in muscle volumization.
