May be true but not holding true for first run. Works out better anyway can see what 6th gen is like before I decide on next car.

As a car enthusiast I have to give Dodge a lot of credit for setting up the system like this. It's about time something was done to these dealers trying to pull a fast one on those of us who buy these cars.

Great job Dodge

Dodge just needs to allow online orders and have them shipped to dealers for delivery. It would avoid any dealer markup

that would supposetly violate franshising law which is why the allocation system exists to begin with.

I would love for auto sales to go internet direct. I always order my cars now and absolute hate dealing with dealers.

Everyone likes the US free market system until they have to buy something in demand and they have to pay more then they want to. I don't have a problem with dealers charging whatever they want.

I can't imagine many people in this world sharing your view.

I had to read this three times to make sure I was reading it correctly. Amazing.

On a side note, you gotta love the way Tim Kuniskis is running the show over at dodge. The guy gets it, he wants the car in the streets not in a showroom roped off. This way people can see them and experience them and show them off. No better way to give yourself a hell of a good chance to have a successful product launch.

I love it !!

For every factory rule, there will be a dealer who outsmart's the rule. Chevrolet has done the same thing with the new ZR1 Vette. One Dodge dealer I know who is getting one, it won't even hit the lot-straight to his personal collection. Like market "adjustments" with the ZL1, the hype will die off and pricing will settle down.

You sir need to take an economic 101. Supply and demand is what drives prices...not what you feel you should pay.

Why can't someone/business charge whatever they want for their inventory? If it's not what the market will support, they will soon be out of business or sitting on an excess inventory.

No need for a lesson pal. Any human with half a brain can realize that's the way the economy in this country works.

I am referring to a consumer who actually doesn't mind the fact that we (consumers) have to pay the prices which are increase by (greedy) dealers when the manufacturer has already set a price for the product.

Good ol' American way of life. Rape the little guy (consumer) for everything they can.

You should adhere to your second sentence. You actually had it right.
Nobody is forcing anyone to buy a car.

Those who are willing to pay more will be first. Wait until they are served and get yours at a fraction of the price. Nothing wrong with that. Supply and demand

What use to piss me off were the limited production cars (like GNX) that the average guy never stood a chance to get. Now these super performance cars are standard production so no biggie.
