I see your mid-$50Ks and sh*t my pants... I certainly don't think that Z28, the way I believe we're going to see it, wouldn't deserve a price like that for what GM would be offering, but I might have to go with SS and mod' the crap out of it
I could/will go faster (even though I'd still plan on basic bolt-ons with Z28), but won't have what many have already pointed out (i.e. warranty, prestige, A Z28...). I know at least many people here would be able to afford it and enjoy it, and that's good enough for me ![]() ![]() ![]() Quote:

We're going to need ALL of that, and maybe even a little more, in order to match/exceed the GT500. I know GM can do it, but will they?...I have faith ![]() ![]()

Ok I think some people will poo poo this notion I have on pricing, but it seems most of the time GM follows this practice, unless you are talking about the Corvette and the ZR-1......
Most of the time there is a price "Overlap" between models, in other words the highest price model of the next lower designation will be just over the entry point for the next, like take the LS, if you option one of them out it will be just a little more than what a base 1LT will be, same goes with the 1LT compared to the 2LT, the 2LT to the 1SS and then the 1SS to the 2SS... I feel like the entry level price for the Z28 will probably be near or at the top price for an SS you can buy... But that is my best guess...And then if GM decides to make the Z28 comparable in the Camaro lineup to the ZR-1 in the Corvette lineup then all bets are off on the price...

I don't see how they're going to avoid it. The GT500 barely squeaked by the tax by cutting about 120lbs of fat from the car.
Unless they somehow manage to cut considerable weight from the Z, I think it gets a GG tax. About the only way I could see any serious weight reduction is through forged components or lightweight body panels, and that means serious $$$. |

Suggestions!
Forged crank, piston rods, LS9 heads, choice or rear end gears at order time would be nice (just like the old days)... those who want 3.45, 3.55, 3.73, 4.10 Let them choose!
Either way, if the purpose is to be the "leader", then why not just put a AFM 600HP Auto or 638HP Manual choice? Just use the current ZR-1 Engine and forget it! There is no way it would run like the vette due to the weight, but it would allow for volume orders from parts suppliers and focus on just a couple engines at the high end. Unless of course, they feel it would be inappropriate without the roll bars. LOL I'd also like to see a few more colors similar to old days... earth tones.http://www.camaro5.com/forums/images...s/thumbsup.gif |
