Okay guys,
I contacted Larry at Bandimere and secured a track day!!! The date is set for Saturday April 7th. This is Easter weekend but it is the only Saturday that I could find that worked before the season "starts". The make up day if necessary is Friday April 20th. The cost will be the same as Steve's day at $80 a car. I have decided to change a few things and am open to feedback. The plan is to cap the paricipants at 40. With a bit of wiggle room up to 50 participants. We will also be running a dedicated slick/drag radial lane.

All NHRA rules will apply. The gates will open at 7:30 AM. And the track will go hot @9:30-10:00 depending on the weather. I need to confirm when the track closes. Initially Larry stated that the track would close @3PM. But Steve said he thought his events ran until @4PM. Assuming it is 4PM I was thinking of running the dedicated lanes until @2:30 and then opening both lanes up to street tire cars for the remaing hour and a half if street tire individuals would like to run eachother.

I am sure I am missing some info for everyone being that this is the first time I have organized an event at Bandimere. Please let me know what other questions you have.

In summary;

Where: Bandimere Speedway

When: April 7th (make up day if needed is scheduled for Friday April 20th)

Time: gates open at 7:30 AM

Participants: 40 allowed

Payment: $80 via Pay Pal; BOULDERNISSANMOTORSPORTS@Yahoo.com (please provide your Car details, name and phone number with ref; Bandimere)

Looking forward to seeing everyone there,
Jason

Did you guys do any damage to your cars when you hit tire? What size wheel/tire combo are you running?

Sam
Hi Sam,
Sorry for slow reponse.. internet access acting up. Just be carefull to check your clearances versus your anticipated drop. Ted was running a wider offsets with his. As far as fully loaded trunk..... it was suitcases, spare parts, etc. The occasional "where the h*%# did that bump come from" is what would get us. No long term damage since we were literally counting how many times we hit and trying to be carefull. Mostly looked like inner fenderwell and possibly fender would touch and make grind sound, and would leave plastic residue on tires and probably wearing the clearcoat too. Mine were on 20" forgelines and 305's on rear..... pretty sure Ted's were 305's too. If your 295 or less your probably ok. I'm not sure exactly what my offsets are, but Ted was hitting alot as his were visibly more offset. 1/4 Mile stuff also squats pretty good depending on power level and how sticky tires are. Just trying to help out

Garth

Hey Garth,

I really appreciate you taking the time to respond in such detail. I'm running 305's on 22's out back. I do think I have the wrong backspacing, so I contacted Ray @ Discount Tire where I got everything. He contacted TSW, and said that the next backspacing is 10mm more, and then I would have clearance issues with the brake calipers hitting the spokes of the wheels. I measured the current clearance, and there's 1.5" of clearance from the back of the spokes, to the face of the caliper. And there's plenty of room on the inside to move the wheel/tire further towards the centerline of the car. I think 10mm is gonna do it right, and give the rear the right look.

As far as the drop springs - I'm taking the advice I've been offered. I'm not gonna install the Eibach springs I bought. I'm gonna see if I can return them - I never even removed the plastic off of the box. If not, I'll be selling them on here!

Sam

I got Eibachs on mine and had no issues, but my wheels are still 20's. I've had 305's on in the past without issues, so once you fix your backspacing issues, you should be able to drop the car...if you still want to.
