Is that what that is? I've been hearing that when doing slow, tight turns like backing out of the driveway or turning in parking lots. I changed my diff fluid a few weeks ago within a day or two of when I added the drop springs. Put in Mobil 1 and added the Jegs LS additive. I was thinking it was tire rub but I've checked a couple times and couldn't find any evidence.

Hmmm. Maybe I should go back to the GM fluid.

It's not the fluid. Whatever you used is fine. After my drive to work there is virtually no moan. Gordy, you have to remember when you take out spongy sound deadening bushings for better performance, you're going to get some noise.

Yeah Gordy-- if you want a smooth, quiet ride... go get you a Honda Civic or something.

... and then you could just... giiiive me your camaro.

It could be I just never listened for it before. After I did the subframe inserts, I didn't worry about backing out of the driveway slowly since I was still at SUV height. After I dropped it, I have to be careful going down the curb now. Plus, I would take off with the radio off so I could listen for any clunks in case I didn't tighten all the bolts. So it is possible it's been making that sound since before the drop and fluid change.

Actually the stock V6 ride is pretty quiet and smooth. Not on level with a Civic, but I was surprised how smooth & quiet it used to be. But never again!

Yeah, the car is actually quite smooth for being a sports car. My mustang was a rough ride, especially once I got the staggered rim setup on there and it was over 90k. It drove like crap in the later years of owning it. So to me, the camaro is pretty smooth.

Quiet, not so much. I'm getting on it as much as possible with my new exhaust.

Also... looks like my friend's band doesn't go on until at least after 3pm, so I'll be able to hang at the car show for a while on Saturday. Trying to get some people with some SWEET custom bikes come up with me too.

Then coming back from the park we pass a house a few streets over that has a Mustang in the garage. The owner has the hood up and is working on it. Lily says about this one "What? is he always working on it?"

I think she picks that stuff up from her mother.
B- don't worry. They WILL be like that. No doubt.

FWIW... Hondas are notorious for terrible road noise. Our 98 was noisy and so is the 12.

We actually didn't get a Fit bc it was so noisy and rode like a truck. Hondas are great on gas and reliability... other things, eh, it's a Honda.

Really? That's interesting... my S.O. has an 09 Civic and it's pretty smooth. I've never driven it though, so I don't know how it feels firsthand. It is definitely better on gas but I never bought a Camaro hoping to get good gas mileage.

Well they aren't rough, just a lot of road noise. I was cleaning it out the other day and what they call carpet is hardly that. And there is no sound deadener. I guess that's why it was so cheap to buy.

Don't get me wrong, I really like the Civic, it's just obviously an entry level economy car.

Yeah the stiff bushings will transfer more noises, lots of threads on here about that complaint. Also got louder after a trip to the drag strip in the Spring. Cincy changed my fluid again and used the LS additive. I haven't noticed much differential noise since then, but with the cam and headers I wouldn't hear it if it were there.
Tracey also torqued those end links real good and they aren't snapping like they were.
Thats the same boat I am in. If Jason's handles the abuse, mine should be fine. I am interested in doing a swap this winter if anyone else is interested, maybe we could get a discount for ordering 2 or more at a time.

You're all fine. Remember mine have been in and out then back in.

When the gears are set at the factory, they are probably computer set and perfect. Plus there is all the bushings and shit so you can't hear them. Well they break in and are silent.

Well I took them out, had the 4.10 failure and had Tracey put them back in. There is no possible way to get them set EXACTLY how they were from GM so now they make a bit of noise. Are they going to break, but unlikely. They just aren't perfect, and never will be.

It's an issue I have. Everyone else is A-OK!
