I'm at fault for not getting anything in writing, but i absolutely loooove the car that i ordered, it's almost here, but thats just too much money for a V6 2LT w/RS package, sunroof and black leather interior! Sorry guys, just needed to vent, I know you all would understand the dilemma im in. The thought of giving the car that I ordered to my licking up and someone else enjoying it kills me!!! What do you all recommend?

I ordered my blk on blk, 2SS Camaro back in October from Brown and Brown Chevrolet and have been eagerly awaiting the arrival ever since. I was told verbally that there would be a $500-$1000 mark up over invoice. Now that my car is finally arriving, I find out that they want a $10k mark up. I know it was my stupidity for not getting it in writing, but this is a company that I have patronized since 1984, buying countless personal and company vehicles. I immediately went home and called about 7 dealers in my area and was lucky enough to find an identical car to the one I ordered. Kudos to Freeway Chevrolet in Chandler, AZ for only raping me for 4k over invoice. What can I say, I had to have it. Goodbye forever Brown and Brown.

They know that you have probably contacted several other dealers at the same time and they need to be competitive to get you to even show up for a test drive. I am no longer in the car business as i have a much better paying job now, but the internet manager at a dealership is your best bet at a good deal.
wow. very good to know. thanks

Gearhart Chevrolet in Denville, NJ. They're selling their V6 demo car at $5k over MSRP.

Unhappy 1LT for $43,000...

OMG...First let me say that I am new to the forum so please be kind. I have a 2LT/RS coming (on order) to me in about a week. I have been tracking it and am stoked. I had never physically seen the Camaro in person yet. So I swung by a dealer in Washington state that had a black 1LT and I had to check it out to see how it would feel to sit behind the wheel. I went in talked to the guys, sat in the car and could not believe how nice it looked. We chatted for a while and then I asked the most important question: How much? They told $43,000....I was like "WHAT THE ????" But didn't say that to them...they told me they had about 5 people start the buying process and back out. CHRIST...they have been talking about the Camaro and it's basic model for 22,000 and here is a dealer that marked it up about twice the base model. They put some ground affects on it and I think 22" rims. But really 20,000 dollar mark up? I was hoping that this car and some newer models with the pricing, the MPG and the sexiness of the car would create strong sales...but with dealers pulling this garbage I am a little concerned.

2010 s#1001 CAMARO 1LT RS $31,000

2010 Camaro 2ss Black/Black $44,995

When asked WHY so much over MSRP??

We are only making $700 profit on the msrp, asking over sticker is the only way we can make a good profit, we need your business, how may I ?

LOL

Currently, there are over 15,000 sold orders for the 2010 model year. The majority are SS cars. As the build out gets closer, we will have solid numbers on production. Those numbers typically will breakdown options, how many of each equipment group, colors, and total units built. The build out for most GM models is typically late July, early August with most GM plants. The plants close for a week or two during the shut down to re-tool (if necessary). I'm thinking it will run a little longer on the Camaro. When GM announced the production delay, it was stated all pre-orders should be completed by sometime in October, which leads me to believe they will run this model year through mid October.

Let's hope suppliers are able to fill orders for materials, and there are no constraints on this model year.

I'll buzz my GM rep on Monday and ask him if he can give me a solid number on production, and solid date on the build out.

As I stated previously;

I was there tonight also. They said $10,000 over MSRP for the ones coming in and they would not place an order for me AT ALL because they don't want to waste their allocation in hopes of getting $10,000 + for every allocation they have.

STAY FAR AWAY FROM CURRY CHEVROLET IN SCARSDALE, NY

I couldn't believe they wouldn't even take my order even if it took 3 to 4 months to come in. They said they don't play that "customer ordering game"!!!!
