Just realized this section is here again. lol

Stay away from military surplus. Gets really dirty and can wear the barrels out faster. Especially in rifles. American eagle is an off brand that shots decent for cheap. Some of your name brands like remington shoot well and clean.

To me, it looks like another typical striker fired firearm. Without actually spending time at the range and a couple hundred rounds through it, I can't really say I hate it or love it lol. I do however LOVE my Hk VP9. Spent close to 1k rounds through it so far, never ceases to amaze me. Not trying to be an HK fanboi... I do love HKs but I also do love the SW MP9.

My next purchase will most likely be a 1911. No idea which one but we shall see. Not a priority atm. But after spending range time with a 1942 Military issue 1911 heirloom... You could say that I am in love.

A couple suggestions, have at least 3 magazines. 1 with the "protection" aka hallow points, other 2 magazines with FMJ rounds for target practice. Never hurts to have more than 3 magazines though

For range time FMJs, I go with either new or reman 9mm from Freedommunitions both for 9mm and .223. For 9mm hallow points, I went with Hornady Critical Defense ones.

This is a nice pistol. Getting my custom redone 1911 1960's military .45 back today. I like tactical or concealed guns.

HK looks like a mighty fine weapon. Never shot one but I'd like to. My daughter has the SW 9mm, and although its been reliable up to this point, she wants to upgrade. She doesn't care the the trigger pull and neither do it. I know Sig makes an outstanding handgun and we are looking in that direction but, can anyone recommend a nice 9mm for the $500 or less range?

Yup. I love the H&K USP. It's a great firearm. Was a hard choice between a USP and my P227. The 227 won out, simply because of the STEAL I got it for. I also daily carry a Springfield XDS in .45. .45 caliber is best caliber.

ummm, no, 9MM is the best. It has been proven time and time again just as many times as .45 has been proven the best.

For years the 40S&W was the choice of the FBI and LEA's, until the new 147 grain Speer Gold Dot G2 9MM round came out. Now they are switching back.

Me, I'll stick w/ the 40.

I've got a S&W M&P9L CORE (9mm)
Springfield XD .40
P227 .45
XDS .45
Rem 700 .243
Tika .300 WSM
Ruger MkII .22
Colt Model 1908 Vest Pocket .25 ACP (made in 1914)

Yeah, I don't discriminate calibers.

All this being said, the Ruger MkII and the XD .40 are the 2 I shoot the best with.
