Does anyone know for sure if the CAI, long tube headers with cats & catch can VOID the warranty?

I want to know because I may actually consider doing them, despite being pushed out of class in autocross, if they don't VOID the warranty. Although I believe that with the headers at least you need a tune and that I know for sure will VOID the warranty. Any thoughts, hints, words of encouragement? lol

It's grey. Depends what happens to the car or if it's tuned... There is no yes or no. Safest is to assume it does void it. If you can't afford or don't want to pay to fix it, don't go overboard on mods.

You're fine with CAI and cat back... High flow cats and headers are where it goes grey...

Catch can... No way. You're totally safe there.

Good rule of thumb though... If anything SERIOUS (engine blows) happens to your car, put all the stock shit back on. Then they never know BUT you can't fool them on the tune. It's on the ECM history. Like the porn browser history on bee's computer... Can't hide that!

actually Jason, the verdict is still out on the ECM counter for the V6...I saw another thread where the guy went to the dealer (tuned back to stock) & they didn't find the tune, even after he told them about it...it doesn't mean GM won't or that the dealer wasn't looking that well, but we do have this screwed up Bosch that is no longer being used in the 2012 V6s

What if it costs more to go back to stock than just buying a new engine?

Except there's no history/flash counter on the bosch LLT ECM. People have flash back to the stock tune for warranty work with zero issues after their ECM was check by the dealer.

Positive. I'll have to find the threads though. One guy took his in because it was knocking, he flashed it back to stock before taking it in. Tech looked at the tune before he did anything else and said he found nothing abnormal. Ask vince from trifecta, he seems to be the only person that can tune, or willing to tune the LLT

It all depends on the shop and dealer as well.

So there is at least one benefit to a V6!
