I think the extenders are for the front sensors that remain and are still active. The rears are tuned out and extenders are not needed for them.

Gotcha, thanks for the info that makes sense.

Is there any benefit to having the front sensors as opposed to having those tuned out as well?

I don't believe you can tune out the front 02 sensors. All of the headers I have installed have a place to install the 02 sensors. I think they would be required in order for the engine to operate properly. I have installed Kook's, ARH and the new TSP 304 headers. Hope this info helps you out.

Is it possible to add an o2 sensor bung past the cats and put In one of those screw In 02 sensor extenders that are supposed to help with CEL ? I'm trying to do some mods without altering the factory tune for warranty purposes.

Even if you installed bungs after the cats and extended your O2 sensors back there, the SEL will still come on. With the cat being relocated further down stream and the cat being a "high flow" cat it will still throw a code. The only cats that I have seen that won't throw a code is the Kooks Green Cats. But those are a pretty penny! Look around and you can find O2 spacers. They essentially space the O2 sensor further out of the exhaust stream so that it won't throw a code. I have ran them on vehicles in the past when deleting the cats with no SEL light. I made my own but you can usually find them already made with a quick google search.

The o2 spacers are what I was referring to. Ok thanks I think I may try that.
