Nice! I'll be looking forward to seeing this put the smack down on the competition.

If(and I am SURE they will) they whore it out to the Ring, they will need to pay attention to front end aero.

That was the first thing I noticed (the SC I mean). I think we're definately in for a bump in power over CTS-V. I know that LSA's upper plenum didn't fit under the cowl, however, I'm suprised they went with LS9's upper plenum/intercoolers straight-out. Hmm... I definately like the looks of this plenum though; it's all bulging or something - more aggressive. I hope they're getting the 2300 rotors though

At first, I thought the hood extractors were a little much, but I like that it looks like the TF2 hood scoop is still there. After looking more at the images, I'm definately loving it more!

I disagree with the bump in power over the CTS-V. The LSA plenum doesn't fit very well. It has to be trimmed and therefore inhibit airflow. There is going to have to be something else done. Mine is purely speculation though.
From what I can see from the hood it appears to have extractors like the GT500, the extractors in the center of the "scoop". |

I love the horsepower wars. I'm hearing from an inside source at Ford (Flatrock Mich, where they build the Mustang) that the GT500 for 2012 is going to up the HP level as well - it is reportedly going to be nearer 570-ish and a little lighter once again. Should be interesting if true. Anyone have any weight numbers - real or rumored - for the new Z? |

Although I have no desire to own the Z I am excited for it's release and to see the finished product.

Im not impressed unless it is a ls9 engine (with perhaps a lsa blower). The gt500 will be lighter, will have the stronger drive train setup (solid rear), and the the engine in the gt500 is forged. In other words its good for a lot of additional horsepower. Ford even went out of the way to make sure the new gt500 engine will take to modder's abuse. GM needs to do the same.
