Someone else here mentioned Randy Pobst. I watched his review on YouTube a couple of times before I bought mine. Believe it or not, I never drove mine until after I had bought it.
I bought it on New Year's Eve. My wife met me at the dealer on her lunch hour to give her approval before we spent the $ (as if there was anything she could say at that point). Since both kids were off school they got to ride home with me. I am hoping this is one of those things they will always remember one day when I am gone and they are still driving the 1LE. When I was a kid there were no new cars in the family, so I understand how special this is. My 14 year old son has been in love with the Camaro since he was old enough to make engine sounds with his matchbox cars. The day we bought the 1LE, you could see in his eyes that I was the coolest dad on earth. You cannot put a dollar value on that. |

My first though was " Wow this car is faster than mine". Right from the start the 1LE felt faster, than my 2010 2SS. Third gear was more aggressive in my 2010, 4th gear in the 2014 1LE felt more aggressive. The handling on the 2014 1LE is much tighter and much more agile than my 2010 2SS.

"Fuk I can't believe I went ahead and did this!,, I never test drove a 1LE in my life, bought one in blind faith,, OMG, holy smokes!! Fuk do I know my cars or what! F everybody, what a choice I made this thing sounds and feels as I predicted to myself " Sledge was born |

Test drove a 1LE an hour after driving a '13 Boss 302. Both had Recaros. It was no contest for me.

Having been a Mustang owner for the last 7 years (until last week), I say you made the right choice.

Two words: "day" and "um". Now say them together real fast!
Ever walk out to the parking lot and look around, spot a gorgeous 1LE, and think, "Wow, that's really mine!"?

Well here it goes : wife ordered a 2010 Yellow R/S manual on April 2009 as it was her mid-life crisis car ! It mostly sat in the garage & by May 2013 I had asked her if I could try it out at the HPDE (PCA as my buddy is a instructor ) . Behold that car was a crier throughout the Roebling Road Raceway ( tires squealing )!!! Buddy was impressed how well it ran with the Porsche & BMW's so all in all I said it needs "better suspension, better brakes & more power" I was all smiles as she said to go ahead with upgrades & upon searching on the websites & got caught viewing Motorweek about the 2013 1LE & yes it was yellow too !!! On figuring the numbers of upgrading & thought it was too much ,waste of time . My dealership said I was was mistaken of a 1LE & he said it was a 1LT !!! Forget it & hit the website of all dealerships in Fla. & found a SW at Autonation as dealer was driving it around all dirty!!! So I traded the 2LT R/S for the 1LE /2SS NPP while I didn't even take it for a test drive & got her all washed up than started to drive off the lot ... Said to myself Holy S..t what a transformation this thing is a beast & baby her to 1500 miles ( break-in ) & it was time to hit the track (RRR) WOW this thing is a BEAST )))) Those poor guys in $ 100 G's 911's wasn't too happy to see a Camaro passing them . I told them its's not a Camaro its a 1LE Track Pack car but didn't care ,guess jealousy kicked in ! I love every minute of it of how well it does on the track so she's got 8900 miles with 16 track days going on with a third set of GY G2's . I thank my wife for letting her Yellow Transformer to be traded for the most beautiful track beast & I'm permagrin every time I'm near or in the 1LE, best investment I ever made !!!!

The first time I drove one was when I drove it off the dealer lot after I bought it. My initial impressions were:
1) Man I made the right decision! 2) The handling/steering is very responsive and sharp. 3) Not as much road noise as I was expecting. 4) This car feels lighter than 3800-3900 lbs. 5) Visibility is not as bad as everyone says it is. 6) I have to somehow get comfortable with this clutch feel. |

Torque in 1st gear. 3.91 gears make a huge difference. Also i thought the ride quality would be rougher with this suspension. Very impressed.

My wife and I drove a dealer trade to Michigan from Iowa to pick our 1le up. It was late at night when we got there and the dealer was closed of course. We saw the car outside and needless to say no sleep that night! In the morning we went and picked up the car. While getting in the car, 3 sales guys came over and said they really were gonna miss it on the showroom floor. Asked me if I heard that bad boy yet to which I replied "no first time I sat in the car". They all chuckled pretty hard when I grinned at the first signs of life from the NPP!
My thoughts on the way home were "600 more miles until I am so gonna violate the warranty!" |
