Personally, I think you're doing it right, autoguy. The decal logically needs to fit the inner-most part of the recess only, because if it were a true opening, that's the area that would have a consistent shading. Upper and lower edges wouldn't look the same because of their angled surfaces.

And a question, autoguy, any plans for side stripes, such as for the quarter panel arches as below in fixxer56's sig. picture? Since I'm getting the Ralley Stripes I'd want something rather narrow so the combination wouldn't look overdone.

Thanks, at least someone understands the concept. If we would have made then the other way, there would have been complaints that they did not fit the recessed area properly.

As far as the design in the sig pic, we are currently working on a few other new designs. Once we get everything we have currently lined up done, we will be looking at custom requests. Everything we have is listed on our website and once a new design is test fit and ready, it is added to the listing.

Rodrunner, fyi, the idea for the side stripes was from a wheel site, rod tanna. Here's the original drawing from their site. I liked it when I was getting IOM so much. DerbyChamp did the photshop for me in silver, and black..

Wow, those are cool. Thanks, fixxer. The black on IOM is even more impressive. I think those would sell quite well!

For anyone wondering what we are looking at here, these are pics I took earlier today while installing a set of these for a dealer. The first recessed area does not have the blackout installed yet, and the rear two obviously do. This should answer any questions about our design.

Is that electrical tape? That should gradate like a real shadow and print on clear.

If someone came out with a ghosted applique that would just darken the area instead of being 100% opaque it would be awesome! else I'll just airbrush it.

I can vouch for Ridergraphix' s products I have their decal all over my Charger and on my windshield. My window decal is Torred and hasnt come off or faded in two years. BTW my car is exposed to the elements of all four seasons. My car is not garage kept. Rider sells a very good product and has customer service second to none. They get my full support and I will be getting my decals for my Camaro from them.

My windshield on my car.
