For what you get with this car if it does start at that, it will be a great price! ..

The more I think about it, the more I believe the $47,000 is an accurate figure. From a business standpoint, I figure GM is thinking that starting out low gets you in the showroom. The ZL1 is being pitted against the GT500. We know this. There will be endless comparisons through magazines, the internet and any other form a media you can think of. There will be a bunch of sexy options to choose from which will easily drive the cost up. Just like the GT500.

We'll know more in Q4 2011 but this makes sense. That's a good starting point and they can advertise the ZL1 as the fastest car under $50,000. That's smart too.

You could easily buy a base model but the options, like suede, will be there to tempt you.

This is exciting and interesting to think about and it only makes too much sense not to assume the ZL1 will line up pretty even with the GT500 when it comes to pricing and options.

very limited and I mean few people will be considering buying a camaro for anything more than 50k, the camaro is the poor mans corvette, sure their are aficionados that would pay more but in this economy i would say more than 50k would be the deal breaker.

Agreed. Another excellent point. They can't step on the toes of Corvette. There needs to be some separation.

Ford doesn't have a Corvette competitor.

GM has to be careful because if the ZL1 is over $50,000, some people might consider a used 2009 Z06 which can be had for that same price. And that's a tough choice to have to make.

This is where the price should be, but I will believe it when I see it. MSRP may very well be 47, but no way a dealership allows that to fly for the first 12 months. I have thought long and hard if it is worth stopping my mods, but ehh...i dunno

If the CAD price is anywhere near this I'll be quite happy. I'm expecting to pay considerably more than that.

All the main features (mag ride, LED tails, electric steering, etc) were listed as 'standard' features, on top of the 2SS base that forms the base package for the ZL1. So really, aside from suede, what else can they even offer?

If they offer this for $47k I will friggin rejoice.

Many banks or other financial institutions have them. I use USAA so if I use their car buying service I'll get 2-3k off a 2ss and probably 4k ish (i hope) off a ZL1. Sometimes the catch is you have to finance with that bank, other then that its like shopping for a car online.

If this rumor of 47k is true, and I can get out the door at 50k or less I could possibly afford one in late 2012/early 2013. That would be an amazing feat for me as well, but we'll see what happens. Fell in love with this thing when I saw the interior pics and it would be a dream come true to own one. Let us hope that 47k is true
