If you have summer tires, they do not grip the road when it gets cold. Snow is not your only issue.

I've always heard there are potential clearance issues with cables. Also, I'd hate to see what the damage would be if one of them came loose and whipped around the wheel well opening. Uggghh! Not a sight I even want to contemplate!
