I drove the v6 car tonight, 140k and still drives like new. Had a few minor encounters with a Subaru and a new Nissan Z lets just say they have new found respect for a v6 Camaro.

155,000
I’ve had my car 9 years, and 155k on it,and I have heard the stories of the dreaded timing chain,no problem here, although I don’t drive it daily,or even weekly, but it only had 40k when I bought it,and did replace the turn signal switch because it wouldn’t kick off when you turned the steering wheel, and just yesterday driving it the cluster gauge went blank, any chance that could just be a blown bulb.

One thing for sure with these v6 engines, do not run them hot. One time and you will be putting head gaskets on them. All aluminum engines just can't take that like the cast iron engines. When I change the coolant I always add the GM brand sealing tablets. At least that way any small leaks that come up get sealed quickly before it turns into a big problem. Most don't know this but ALL cars leaving GM get these sealing tablets, they been doing this for 20 years. They learned the hard way on the Cadillac's.<warranty HELL.

I have an early year model 2011 LS (bought it new in July 2010) and I had to replace my timing chains at 132K. At the time mine was throwing Cat codes too, but after replacing the timing chains and driving about 2 weeks, those Cat codes disappeared. I've driven about 2K miles since that repair was done and it has been like new again. I didn't realize how messed up it had been for so long. Since it was a really gradual decline in performance, I didn't really notice till it had gotten pretty bad. You live, you learn. Here's hoping for another 132K on the ol' girl!

To anyone doing the chains be sure not to use the hardware if you buy a Cloyes complete timing kit. Lots of reports of the bolts breaking off shortly after starting the engine. Some breaking as the bolts are tightened. Be forewarned.
