Hi everyone. Been enjoying my new 2012 except the tonneau cover is useless. The front of it catches the wind and it pops up like a big sail. Then I have to pull over on the side of the road and push it down again. After doing this 6 times in about 20 miles, I took it off. At least it doesn't fly away. If there was a lip to push it under in the front, it would be fine. Bad design.

It wouldn't catch air if you tucked it in behind the top of the rear seat.

OK I'm a nub and I have been asking the dealer to get me a new cover because I forgot in my excitement at the dealer to ask about before buying. {ducks and rolls from people throwing things} LOL

Is there a cover that comes with the car standard and a hard cover that you buy?

Thanks Corey

No hard cover from GM. Perhaps in the future the aftermarket might make one.

As far as I know only the 2LT and 2SS come with the cover standard. It is a separate purchase with the 1LT and 1SS.

Agreed, but I can't find a way to do that. It sticks up just a little bit and when I push it down, it pops back up. There is nothing to push it under. It is like 2 walls meeting that slide up and down, not in and under.

Agreed, mine sticks up a little but not enough to catch air even going 90.

I would say it only sticks up 1/4 the other 3/4 is tucked in and snug.

Same amount as mine. It is a very minimal amount that it sticks up. Mine happened in a very windy area in the dessert where they have windmills on the side of the road. I guess I put it to the ultimate test.

I personally don't like the new design of the cover. The old design on my 11 vert was great and I never had a problem, easy to install and go. This 12 vert top is a pain in the ass to put on. I can't find an easy way to put in on without bending the crap out of the top. I tried to put the 11 cover on and it won't fit, clips are different. The 12 cover sticks up a little in the middle and I was afraid to go very thinking it would fly off. I already lost one with the 11 vert, don't want to have same result with new 12.

Jeeze, mine is a breeze to put on. Lay it out, clip the bungee cords and tuck it in. All of 40 seconds on a slow day.

Bungee cords? Well, that's one way to keep it from flying off - mission accomplished there!

You know what I mean! Those crummy clips from 2011 are gone on the 2012's.
