I'm on the opposite side of the spectrum, I bought a 2SS with everything but a sunroof (HATE those things). HOWEVER... I have actually driven an LS... as a friend of mine owns an LS. Is he happy? Damn right, he is! And he should be, he owns a Camaro! We took his LS for a ride had a blast!
To his credit he is taking his time to mod his ride. He's quite particular about what he wants done, so he's saving his money and buying mods when he can pay cash for them. I get the sense that most LS owners are very sensible about their money. Be proud of your Camaro! My personal recommendation is to NOT put a spoiler on it. But it's YOUR car, so do as you please. Celebrate your uniqueness... and stand out from the crowd!

My last piece of advice.... never, never, never, NEVER say "It's only an LS", or "It's only a V6" to people asking about your car. I've even heard the occasional LT owner say this. The V6 has TONS of horsepower, so no 'apologies' or 'excuses' needed. You own a Camaro!!!! That sets you above the rest!!!

P.S. Oh, and YES... I am an SS owner that promotes the V6. Both engines are fantastic, so embrace yours and run (drive) with it! So, should you choose the V6 or V8? My answer is always YES.

Do us all a favor, keep your vain and uncalled for comments about the V6 to yourself or post them in other, non V6 specific threads....

Some of us actually like the V6 and would like to be able to discuss it without the rude and uncalled for comments made by a few SS owners who are stuck on themselves..

Thank you, and enjoy the Labor Day weekend!!
VERY well said!

EXACTLY!!!! You "get it"! You understand. It's all about the ride... and the 5th Gen Camaro is Heaven-On-Wheels. Thank you for your post!!!

Yes your post(s) was rude and uncalled for... Get over ---> yourself....

Now.... My V6 sounds awesome but it does not sound like a V8...
I find most people who are negative and insulting to be very insecure people. Everything revolves around them. It makes them a very suspicious person, and they are best when ignored.

No, a V6 does not sound like a V8. I've heard V6 owners say, "It's not a V8 but..." and it annoys me. No 'buts!'.

The V6 is killer. It's awesome! It has horsepower with such ease that the Gen 1s are green with jealousy.

You own a Camaro. That means you have awesome taste!!!

Thank you for your research! I double-checked and you are absolutely right! This gives me the info I need when talking to my V6 brothers.

Correct, not worth a keystroke. Most V8 owners are cool, it's just the few who don't get it. Thanks Ravirn.

Great posts by all!!!!

I love and enjoy the V6, as does my son.. I have a 2010 LS and he has a 2011 LS...

Most members of C5 are awesome and many SS (read most =98% of them) owners also love and respect the V6...

Yes there are a few bad apples amongst us (V8 and V6 owners alike) who ruin the C5 experience for many of us...

I'd love to have a V6 thread where the V6 can be discussed without some loud mouth rude jerk walking all over it with his / her V6 Camaro hate..

For me, the V6 suits my needs... It's my daily driver and I don't run it at a track... It has more power than I should realistically ever need or want... I can see where people want the V8... There is nothing like the sound of it and that rip you back in the seat feeling of that beast!

V6 owners have been accused of buying the V6 because they could not afford the V8 (in many cases this is not true)... V6 owners have been told their Camaro is a joke, that it's ugly, ect....

I would never fault anyone who wants the V8 even though it's not for me... I would never fault anyone who bought a V6, wether it's all they could afford or not... Both the V8 and the V6 are 110% pure awesomeness....

I know for the most part that 98% of Camaro 5 users are awesome! It's the 2% that I am generally tired of... They post their hate in every V6 thread there is...

In short, it would just be nice to discuss the V6 without some loud mouth jerk putting it down, slamming it, and tearing it apart...

lol.... all you are looking at is HP ...

look at a 370z 32k for 332 HP. thats 20 more HP then a v6 camaro.. but a 370z would destroy a v6 camaro.. trust me....

the camaro v6 does have 312 for 23k.. but if so heavy thats its not even fast...

i could buy a 18k wrx sti and beat you every time in a race.

i could but a 16k 350z and beat you in a race every time.
i could buy a 23k m3 and beat you every time

the v6 camaro is not a fast car in the sports car world.. the v6 camaro is a cool car, but when people start talking about it being fast,, thats when i draw that line... you wanna go in a fast car, my buddies 510 RWHP mustang is a fast car, a v6 camaro is a joke

The 370z is 10K more... Apples to oranges... An SS (equivalent price and a better comparison) would smoke the 370z...

Have you ever driven a V6 or are you to busy looking at and admiring yourself in the mirror?

And we are back to the V6 put downs... Don't you need to go pound your chest or look in a mirror or something...
