I'm only passing because I'd have to pay tax and the tuning price.

Got antsy and went to look at these on Saturday (thinking I could pick 'em up and install Sunday), was told I could come by at anytime and that there were just some minor scratches on the underside of the pipe.

Got to the place, and the headers weren't there, and was told they were at the manufacturer BFE and was not the demo units on the wall. (Note: the display set on the wall looked very nice).

However, when I called back on Monday morning to check about getting them, was told they were sent to BFE to fix a bad weld, and it was fixed, but sold to someone else??

I had my reservations about this shop after reading lsxnation and ls1tech, but after this experience, I'll be passing on both this shop and brand. Got me paranoid.

Also, I apologize if I pointed someone to the auction and they purchased these.

Your simply brain washed into thinking it or you are getting paid by them to back up their rumors and that is the funniest part of this thread! So keep chewing on the BS and see how far it gets you. As far as who can or can not afford a set of ARH or KOOKS: I could buy 100 sets of headers and give them away as Christmas gifts and not even notice the money is missing from my account! Money had nothing to do with my choice! Stop assuming that everyone who buys an item for a lower price is unable to afford it! Stupid!

I agree with you completely...and just in case you get into the Christmas mood, I'd like to be first in line...haha

I just looked at the ebay listing you posted. From what I see CFN Products was selling the used set and had these listed on Ebay as a "used set". CFN is not open on weekends so what "shop" did you go to in Houston? You've got me feeling drunk now. I think you've got your facts all jacked up! Your not making any sense. Put the beer goggles down and step away from the cooler! LOL!

BFE has donated a set of these headers to the Camaro Club here... They look awesome. Raffle tickets are $10 each for anyone that wants a shot at them.

Includes install if you're in the Houston area...

Maybe I was drunk.

When I called the dealer about the display set from ebay and I wanted to check them out he said they were actually there. Looks like I got mixed up by the video caps in the listing and the shop misinterpreted what I was asking about. I've been researching, shopping, and buying so many car parts I may be fried. I think the dealer/shop was just following up. My bad for any confusion caused!

Yes, I knew they were display with scratches. That's why I wanted to check them out. The set I saw looked great!

BTW, are CFN and BFE related somehow?

OK. This one is for ARH and KOOKS, and any of the mudslingers in the room etc.

It costs mucho $$$ to do R&D to develop a good product. Most start up companies do not have the capital to develop the extensive labs to do the R&D. That is why long established companies such as Edelbrock, Holley, Kooks, Borla etc. etc. continue to produce outstanding products. However, with that said, American ingenuity (in the past) is what has built this country.

I personally know a couple of hard core engine/race car builders that have old school exhaust "artisans" that can custom build the best set of headers that will flow and perform as well as any high end manufacturer running an assembly line. And they won't break the bank either. Just because you are a small company doesn't mean you don't have the brains, ingenuity, creativity and talent to create a fantastic exhaust. The beauty of it is... the guys I know are smart enough to tell me they can or cannot do it better then what is on the market. And they do it WITHOUT bashing their competition.

When I see a company bashing another company publicly, nine times out of ten it is because they are floundering financially and sales are way off. I will leave it at that.

PS - Flames gratefully accepted. Thank you.

I can't think of anyone that would create a product, see someone make a direct knock off of their hard work, and just shrug it off and let people buy it without throwing in their two cents.

just seems silly. the two companies in question where the designs were replicated for this system are both financially well off.

9 out of 10 times, huh? here's another stat I'll pull out of my butt. 9 out of 10 times, those defending knock off products, actually own knock offs themselves and put on the horse blinders. at least you saved a buck.

you can participate in the discussion as much or as little or not at all if you'd like my good sir. we all have our motives and reasons. at the end of the day, it's your car, your money, and your decision and I won't bash you for it.

personally if I am on a tight budget I cut unnecessary spending out of my budget entirely, I don't buy knock offs. some people don't see the value in buying the authentic. some people could care less, and some people are totally uninformed. doesn't really matter at the end of the day, I just have my strong beliefs and values, and I try to promote buying authentic over replicas. someone has to fight the good fight or these knock off companies won't have any products to knock off in the future
