I appreciate that everyone has refrained from personal politics or attacks of any kind in this thread. This is great!

You are all completely correct in your statements. Our country is just that—ours. We have so much authority to decide its fate and future, and yet too many of us reject the notion of voting in favor of some concept that we don't matter. There is way more to your vote than simply winning an election. It says something important that gets remembered in history, and your message is that you support someone for what they believe. Even in defeat, your message reminds the victor that his or her win was not by unanimity. You have a voice, and you are entitled to use it tomorrow. Please use it to support someone worthy of public office.

I would suggest that some folks may want to read "Rise and Fall of the Third Reich"... It is enough to scare the crap out of you.

I haven't missed a major election since when I was in college. Too many have fought and given their lives to protect my rights. I for one will never forget that.

Thanks to my Dad (who fought for us in the Phillipines) and some close friends who died for our Nation!

"This guy" has earned a free pass one thousand times over. And the thread is on the fringes of politics anyways. "Go vote" is an order to practice a responsibility. Tying it to political affiliation is something Scott even went so far as to discount.

It'll probably be taken down Tuesday at midnight, or Wednesday morning to prevent any fallout from the results.

I have worked in the U.S. Senate and in our State Capitol and also managed a statewide U.S. Senate Campaign. I currently work in public affairs at the state level representing the interests of private businesses. This election is very important and I'm glad this thread was started. The most important thing everyone can do is go vote so that our voices are heard. Remember, the politicians work for you and me so lets hire the right people!

Thanks everyone!

Oh my heavens. This entire thread is "apolitical"!

No endorsements one way or another. It is encouraging citizens of the United States (and any other nation which allows individuals the right to select their government representatives) to exercise that right and , yes, their civic duty.

If you don't want to or elect to not vote that is your choice.

No real controversy there.

It to most is the fabric of our Nation.
