I love USAA and will never get insurance or bank with anyone else, they have definitely proven their loyalty to clients and have earned one for life.

I've been very happy with USAA as well. I have that as my father is a Vietnam Veteran. Maybe you can still work out a deal with the guy just for the new camaro that you will get. Either that or save some money for the Z, Convertable or something

How old is she? If she is still 18 and her parents had not signed the papers to make her a emancipated adult. They the parents are responsible. Any one here a lawyer or can answer this correctly?

Help her grow up by giving her what she deserves.......Jail time!
Sounds like her parents have done a poor job of raising her and just protected her.

I agree with everyone else, you have to report the car stolen or else you will never get your money. And if the parents were that afraid of their daughter getting in trouble, they would be paying for it instead of saying that she'll pay you as time goes by
... And also, thank you for your service, and stay safe

She is the one who made the mistake, so why her family would expect you to pay is beyond me. I also work for an insurance company and they will probably get a judgement against her for what they pay out, she can make her $50 a month payment to them. We have plenty of folks making us small payments on large amounts. She will probably never get it paid off. Here in VA if they stop making payments we can have their driver's license suspended.

6 years in the military so I'm assuming you are either a nco or officer. Tell me something what if one of your lower enlisted crashed a upper armored hummer for being stupid. Would you feel pity for them? I'm a former Sgt. and I know sure wouldn't. I'm also a police officer and in my state once you enter a civil agreement about the car there's no turning back. So do the right thing and contact the local authorities in which the accident took place. Most service members have a poa so use them to take of this. Good luck

This too common in the Military. Entrusting a friend to take care of your gear and vehicle(s). If you put storage on the insurance and the place where it is to stored. I would change the police report to stolen. Its bad enough we don't make a whole of cash in the military. Sooner or later money saved on Deployment thins out and we say 'Oh man, what did I spend my money on?!' Your friend feels just as bad and knows if you change report to stolen, he will understand. Your friend better buy all your drinks for the first month back, its only fair.
