I would think that they would have on record who was assigned to plow your road. I would at least look into it if I was you. Heck that is hit and run if they left know information for you to contact them.

(they probably know which plow did it and are just covering their asses)

i would be ALL OVER them!!!!!

they would pay to fix my car just to get rid of my annoying ass!!!

i plow for a living during the winter, i do condos, large park lots ..etc. While I've never hit anything it would be difficult to tell in a large truck/loader. The truth is you can't prove they did anything therefore they won't be paying. I'd be filing a police report for a hit and run. Is there any paint from the plow/vehicle on your car? If so what color?

It's going to be impossible to prove fault and even if they hit you, they might not be at 100% fault in the eyes of the law/insurance companies. Accidents happen and that's what insurance is for. I'd call the plow company again explain what happened and ask for their insurance information. Then give it to your insurance company and let what happens happen.

Also I would never let some random person into my property to inspect my plows. I would doubt the paint would still even be on the plow. Plus i don't want an angry person with his friends to know where i store my 100s of thousands of dollars worth of equipment.

i feel your pain, mine was hit as well during the storm by the sanitation dept. Luckliy not a lot of damage but enough that I cant drive it, or open the drivers side door. What really sucks is that I cant even get it to the bodyshop until next week because it needs to be towed and the tow truck can get into my area becuase of all the snow and how shitty the city plowed the roads. Good luck

Real sorry to hear that, yeah it really sucks when this happens. How clobbered did you get up there? Around here outside Philly it wasn't too bad, but I've got relatives on Long Island who are talking like it's a new Ice Age up there. At least you're not in NYC - we've seen how their sanitation crews work, haha. Hope you get it taken care of soon.

The good news for me at least is I just got a call from my insurer who was writing up the estimate. Just under $2,900 in damages (which to me sounds like a lot - 10% of what I'm paying for the car - but he said it really isn't), the fender and front fascia need to be replaced (and they will be leaving the miserable front plate bracket off!), and the estimated completion date is January 6th! Not bad, considering I was worried I'd be without it for a month - shows what I know about auto damage.

We had roughly 30 inches in staten island. Worst I have seen since 1996. My ex gf watched it happen as she stays at my house with my kids. I work and live in pa. I rushed up as fast as I could. It sucks but what can you do. 2900 is a lot. Good luck to you. Mine should only be about half that. But that's just a guess

You seem to be taking it well. My head would have exploded. I'm sure you will be back on the road soon. Hope your new year is better.

So, I am guessing this will fall under your collision insurance? Therefore, you most likely have a deductible, correct? If you could prove that this damage was a result of a hit and run, the guilty party would be liable to pay the damage claim via his insurance or cash settlement. However, since it seems you can't prove who did it, you end up using your collision insurance and have to fork over the deductible...sucks. So much for parking on the street I guess.
