I have a 2011 ls with automatic. I don't have a rear spoiler and I'm not sure of the gears. But I do get about 32-33 mpg on the highway

Does anybody know how to tell what the ratio is in my car?

Check you original documentation, your window sticker should tell you what the rear axle gear ratio is. Also, since you have an automatic and no spoiler, I assume you have a LS because it was buile before there was a 1LS or 2LS designation.

All other V6 Camaros run with 3.27 ratios.

Here's the old school way of telling your rear end axle ratio. The number of times your axle rotates for a full wheel rotation. Now I know this isn't practical to tell the difference from a 2.92 and 3.27.

I should clarify this to say the number of times your driveshaft rotates for a full wheel rotation.

So is the 2.92 going to make the car gutless? What are those 0-60 times going to be? Will it be easy to switch back to 3.27? lol

I thought lower ratio numbers meant faster 0-60 but lower top end speed?

Alright so from what I could gather together.. lower ratio (higher #) = faster acceleration, higher ratio (lower #) = better FE...

The difference on paper between 2.93 and 3.27 appears minimal, but people keep telling me that it'll be completely gutless around the city and only useful on the highway (2.93 rear axle).

So the 2LS is going to be great to look at, but suck to drive?

If you do the math, it's about a 10% reduction going from a 3.27 axle to a 2.92. So in theory if the standard quarter mile run for the V6 A6 is 14.5 seconds, you're going to loose about 1.45 seconds in the quarter mile. But in reality it wouldn't be because you still have the same air drag.

Same goes for mpg. You would think you'd have a 10% gain in mpg put you still have the same air drag. Probably safe to say whatever per cent you gain in mpg you loose in quarter mile runs.
